055. Grants, an Introduction

Released Monday, 19th October 2020
Good episode? Give it some love!
It may not have always been this way, but it seems that grants and other sources of funding are the norm for artists and designers. From public arts grants to student grants to professional grants, there is an expectation that we write and receive grants for the projects we undertake. But how many of us ever took a course in grant writing or had a professor spend the time to outline the process? We sure didn’t.
This week in the studio, Ryan and Garreth sit down to dip a toe in the waters of grant writing to help you understand the first stages of the process and dispel a few myths about grants and what you need to do to get the ball rolling.
