The Center for the Study of the Self is a study group based on the tradition of the Fourth Way, with its own unique emphases. The group works with the principles that Gurdjieff introduced to the West, while also following the methods of his senior students, with particular emphasis on Rodney Collin and Ouspensky.

The Center has groups in New York and Los Angeles and Tel Aviv  and is led by a direct student of Alex Horn.

Our method of study is pragmatic and direct. Students are introduced to well-established methods that enable precise self-observation. Through this observation, self-knowledge can develop, and from it, a foundation for change.

The Center aspires to establish a small core group that is serious and deeply committed. No prior knowledge is required, though it is welcome if present.

We engage with art, philosophy, and religious texts from various traditions, as well as physical practices—but above all, with a precise effort to strengthen the higher part of the human being, which exists in everyone but is dormant and suppressed.

We also place special emphasis on the study of Jewish Kabbalah, and through the keys of the Fourth Way, many additional layers are revealed.

המרכז הישראלי ללימוד האדם את עצמו הינה קבוצת לימוד ע"פ המסורת של הדרך הרביעית עם דגשים יחודיים. הקבוצה עובדת עם העקרונות שגורדייף הציג למערב אך גם עוקבת אחר שיטת הלימוד של תלמידיו הבכירים עם דגש על רודני קולין ואוספנסקי. המרכז הישראלי הינו הסתעפות של הפעילות של המרכז בניו יורק ולוס אנגלס ומובל ע"י אחד ממקימי המרכז ותלמידו הישיר של אלכס הורן. שיטת הלימוד שלנו היא פרגמטית וישירה. התלמידים נחשפים לשיטת לימוד ידועות שמאפשרות התבוננות עצמית מדויקת, דרך התבוננות זו ידיעת העצמי יכולה להתפתח ודרכה בסיס לשינוי. המרכז הישראלי שואף להקים קבוצה גרעינית קטנה אך יסודית ורצינית. אין צורך בידע מוקדם אך אם קיים, יתקבל בברכה. אנחנו עוסקים באומנות, בפילוסופיה, בכיתבי הדתות השונות, בתרגול הגוף אך מעל הכל במאמץ מדוייק לחיזוק החלק הגבוה באדם, זה שנמצא בכל אחד אך רדום ונרמס. אנחנו גם נותנים דגש מיוחד ללימוד קבלה יהודית ודרך המפתחות של הדרך הרביעית רבדים רבים נוספים נחשפים. השיחות להלן מאפשרות טעימה מסוג הידע הנחשף ונלמד בקבוצות
