On the surface, it's a silly, fun show where someone wanders around avoiding the main plot. You can trust Sidequesting, though. No joke is ever more important than the people who might be hurt by it. The stakes are deliberately low, which flies in the face of what we think we know about storytelling - but it turns out that listening to something sweet, and kind, and that you know will turn out all right, is exactly what some of us need in our lives. Also, Tal swordfights a chair to get good foley and that level of commitment deserves our love and respect. The creator of this show is a friend, but my love of the show predates our friendship. Check it out.

I make this show, so I'm a little bit biased here, but I really appreciate how each of the guest voice actors give their all. In my opinion, they're what makes this podcast great! Each episode has someone new, and the sheer talent I get to witness while producing the show impresses me every time.

Sidequesting is one of my real favourites. When you want to hear a show that is uplifting and positive without being preachy or irritating, Sidequesting's the one for you!

Such a sweet, fun fantasy podcast that doesn't have a main plot because that's not the goal. Good for listening to while doing all those side quests. The creator, Tal, is also BRILLIANT!!! Follow them on all the things!!!

I really enjoy listening to this podcast. For me, it is a deeply cathartic escape to a world where wrongs can be righted by an individual who is earnest, clever, curious, and a bit mischievous. The writing really shines when topics like love are explored. I recommend giving this podcast a chance, and I'm certain you will immediately like the disarming main character Rion and following their journey.

In a genre where every protagonist is “The Chosen One” it’s nice to hear a story where the protagonist just wants to help folks out. It’s been said many times before, but this show really is the perfect escape from the heaviness of our modern times. From the writing to the foley work to the voice acting, a stunning amount of careful detail has gone into crafting the world of Sidequesting. Do yourself a favor and spend a few days avoiding the main quest with Rion.

I only recently jumped into Sidequesting but I was so immediately charmed! The concept of a protagonist who is absolutely down to help people but not really out to become a classic hero (therefore the title) is so fun and appealing, and the show is exactly as fun, lighthearted, and sweet as it seems on the tin. This is absolutely a Comfort Show to come to when you need a break and a blanket and a minor adventure.

The premise of this podcast is evERYTHING (and yet it's somehow even better!) Tal is really good at the podcast thing, and they really shine here!
