Back when I was competing, I went by Marty “The Werewolf” White. “The Werewolf” was a character I created, because I felt I had to become a monster to fight someone. I never really wanted to hurt anyone. I only wanted to prove to myself that I had “it” in me.

I wanted to get bloody more than I wanted to make my opponent bloody. I wanted to prove I could go the distance despite all my fears.

Fear of gassing out.

Fear of getting my ass kicked in front of friends and family.

Fear of getting teeth knocked out or something worse...
