Welcome back to Six Minute Sex Ed, the podcast that helps people talk about sex, relationships, and growing up. Created and hosted by Sex Education Teacher Kim Cavill. Find her at www.teaandintimacy.com - https://twitter.com/sexposparenting - https://www.instagram.com/sixminutesexed/

This week’s episode is level one, making it perfect for listeners of any age, and we’re going to talk about stress. We’ll answer five questions:

What is stress? What does stress do to your body? What does stress do to your brain? Why do we feel stress? How can we feel better?

Stress is what we feel when we worry about something, feel uncomfortable, or get overwhelmed. Kids have been feeling more and more stressed every year even before Covid 19, but Covid 19 has made that stress a lot worse. Kids aren’t just feeling normal stresses, either, like getting butterflies before a big test or nerves before a big game. Kids are feeling traumatic stresses about school, being kept from their friends or other people they care about, sick family members, and family traumas. Listen to this episode with the kids you care about and start an important conversation about the types of stress and stress relief today.
