Tips for optimizing your LinkedIn profiles:

Utilize the background image.
Use a professional head-shot for your profile picture.
Consider using key (searchable) words in your headline.
Make the main point of your summary be about how you solve problems for your targeted audience (client, customer, partner):

Your name.
Your claim to fame.
What you do.
The problems you solve for your target audience (customer, client, partner).
Your why.
Call to action (“email me to help you…”)

Configure the text of your URL link (below your profile) picture to read as your name if possible (use numbers or your middle initial if you need to.)
Keep searchable words in mind for your work experience descriptive words: what will people looking for you be using for their search words?
Writing your Summary:

Why you do what you do.
How do you do what you do.
What it is you do
Call to action.
