In episode 7 of Small Town Big Stories we hear from John Hess, a retired Biology Professor, Ornithologist, Herpetologist, Photographer, Humanist, Writer and Explorer of the great outdoors. He and his wife, Gina, have travelled to the Galapagos Islands, as well as many interesting locations throughout the US that are home to wild and wonderful species of plants, birds and animals. Hess wrote a book about his time in the Galapagos, which includes both photography and narrative, and he is currently writing his second book about how his life in Missouri intertwines with the wildlife by which he is surrounded at his home, Brawley Creek. He is a fascinating and charming individual!
