Sophie & Sam
Sex/Money/Feelings/Die is a podcast hosted by Sophie (@leavemealon8 on twitter, sophie43 on Onlyfans) and Sam (@imsamcook on youtube/twitter/instagram and @nxii3ty on Onlyfans). Full-time college-aged students, who are diagnosed with Borderline Personality Disorder, Sophie and Sam share fun stories, experiences, and advice for their viewers in regard to exploring their sexuality, improving their mental health, or just simply looking to have a laugh! Topics can range from something as serious as eating disorders to using anal beads, and their free-flowing conversations serve as a digestible, comedy-filled dialogue injected with loads of helpful information and opinionated perspectives on topics that the average person might be unwilling to research for themselves due to the somewhat taboo content matter of a given subject or perhaps the viewer just didn't know where to start in terms of what they should type into the Google search-bar.
Sophie is a 20 year-old who gained a significant following on the popular social media website, Twitter, where she has currently amassed a whopping 50,000 followers. A sociology major at Arizona State University, Sophie has been active on "Twitter" for most of her teenage years, but has seen a significant increase in her following within the past year or so. In December of 2019, she began her Onlyfans page and has become completely financially autonomous from her parents. Although her substantial rise in income has gifted her with more than she could have ever asked for, her rise-to-internet fame has been riddled with highs-and-lows, as she has struggled with various mental illnesses for much of her life. Ill-equipped to handle the brute force of cyber-hate, paired with the every-day stressors of being a young adult woman in her early 20's, Sophie has been able to manage her success through various creative outlets, and cites this podcast as one of them. She would like to use her platform to spread awareness on social justice issues, such as #BlackLivesMatter, and would like to use this podcast as a way to let her followers get the chance to see another side of her that most have yet to see. You might have already seen her naked, but this podcast is the most raw-and-open she's ever been.
Unlike Sophie, Sam has been a moderately unknown social media influencer for several years. He began "Youtube" at the age of 16, and currently has roughly 8,700 subscribers. His first video to hit 1 million views was of his armpit boil being popped at the doctor's office. He attends community college, where he intends to complete his Associate's degree in Film & Theatre by the Spring of 2021. Similar to Sophie, Sam is diagnosed with Borderline Personality Disorder, and suffered from various co-morbid disorders ranging from drug addiction, bulimia, to symptoms of post-traumatic stress and generalized anxiety. He desires the opportunity to use his platform in a similar way as Sophie, by spreading awareness for #BlackLivesMatter and other social justice issues, but he would also like to use his platform for those with similar struggles as himself. Issues such as childhood trauma, body dysmorphia, and substance abuse are just some of the many things that Sam hopes to help his viewers not only understand, but hopefully find ways to cope with. Humor is not just a way to make a person laugh, but a way to make a person think. And hopefully, feel better.
Having been on-and-off friends since 2015, Sophie and Sam share a bond quite like no other. They've become quite the duo since the winter of 2019, and are so close they even partake in the same group therapy sessions via Zoom. Their podcast-style is conversational, often-times super casual and simply put: very digestible and pure fun.
