The county of Forsyth, Georgia, U.S.A. has been the site of two cases of ethnic cleansing.
The first case of ethnic cleansing committed in Forsyth was committed in the 1830s against the Native American people indigenous to the area.
The second case of ethnic cleansing committed in Forsyth was committed in 1912 against the county's African-American population.
For this episode of Social Justice Warriors, Matt Buckley interviews Patrick Phillips, who is the author of the book Blood At The Root - A Racial Cleansing In America, which is about the ethnic cleansing committed against African-Americans in Forsyth in 1912. The book also deals with the ethnic cleansing committed against Native Americans in the 1830s.
