Joining us right now on the radio show. Normally Fridays at five, but

0:04

we're off on Friday for Sweet sixteen college basketball courtesy at Westwood One. So

0:09

we do it now. Let's do it now. We'll do it now with

0:12

Hugh Millan. How are you pal? What's going on? What's happening?

0:14

Boys? I'm Will good Man. Good to have you back on the radio

0:17

show. Lots of stuff to talk about from the owners meetings, new kickoff

0:21

formation set up in the NFL Challenge, rules are changed and tweaked and things

0:26

like that. But let's start at the top. Man, your alma mater

0:30

just hired the ad at Washington State. Pat Chun is the new ad six

0:35

days after Troy Dannon took off for Nebraska. What do you think? Well,

0:38

I'm not at all disappointed that Troy Dann's gone, but that's a topic

0:42

for another day. Doesn't have to be based on what I've learned. But

0:47

I think I look at it in three ways. Guys. Number One,

0:50

I just say, okay, is this a good hire for Washington? And

0:54

I kind of separate the Washington States about that. You know, there's a

1:02

chance that this is it. Well, there's a chance that Troy Dana just

1:06

went over to Hugh's house. I mean's he's almost sixty years old. You

1:10

never know, it could be over for him. Can we get him back? For God's sakes, let me know if he's okay. We're all concerned

1:15

about him. But yeah, he's not. He's not shedding a tear for

1:18

the Troy Dannen angle, like I just guess. I wonder. Obviously for

1:23

us, the bigger angle, Dick is the Husky angle. But there's two

1:26

sides of this story. One of it is the Wazoo side and one of

1:29

it is the Husky side. I don't know if there's ever been an eighty

1:32

higher at Washington where both sides of the state have a vested interest in what

1:36

just happened. Yeah, and I mean we have to go back to Marv Harshman right for the last time a major hire has been made by Washington coming

1:42

directly from Washington state has fifty years ago? I would I mean, we're

1:47

Cougar fans calling Marv Harshman greasy when he left for Washington, Washington fifty years

1:53

ago. I don't know. I mean, it wasn't social media at the

1:57

time, but I would have to I would wonder what the spokesman, Revi

2:00

you wrote, you know, when Marv Harshman came over here. Yeah,

2:02

just Jackson, put on the phone. All right, If that's not gonna

2:05

work, put on the phone, because I don't want to waste time. I want to get here on the year right away. But look, I

2:08

mean, I do think I totally understand the angst and the frustration and really

2:13

the feelings coming out of Pullman and out of Eastern Washington. If I were

2:16

a Cougar fan, i'd be I'd be kind of pissed off too. And

2:20

I was pissed off at Jabbar Mohammed, for God's sakes when he went to

2:22

Oregon. Here do we have you back? Now I'm here, I'll ta out there. You go. Stop pushing the wrong button for trying out loud

2:28

way in geez, man, the hamsters are jumping on all the wheels,

2:30

So give us your thought on the patch on high. You go ahead.

2:32

Well, I first of all, I look, and I just separate the

2:35

Washington State part of it. I just say, okay, if he had

2:38

had been doing what he was doing at a light kind school similar to Washington

2:42

State, but not Washington State, is he a guy that has the chops.

2:46

And I think for the most part the answer is yes. I mean

2:49

you look, you know, the first thing you look and say, okay,

2:52

he inherited Mike Leach, he had a coaching change, he went with

2:55

Nick Rulovitch. I think I think that's kind of an incomplete And then of

2:59

course I think he made it a good decision with Jake dickerd He inherited Ernie

3:01

Kent, great hire in Kyle Smith. Right, So you've got that aspect,

3:07

but there's other things about it. Now you can argue it's the sign

3:10

of the times and everything. But quoting from Washington State's Assistant vice president for

3:15

Business and Finances, John Harlowe, he says, for internal debt, meaning

3:19

what they owe the campus Washington State, there's a couple of months ago one

3:23

hundred and two million dollars in debt, and we also owe external debt as

3:29

well. Those are for past facility upgrades and financial debt, you know,

3:32

upwards of two twenty to two hundred and forty million when it's all cabulated.

3:38

Now the Huskies have that as well. But when you're looking at it from

3:42

Pat chun standpoint, you said, okay, look at we all know how

3:46

the revenues are going to our scheduled decline at Washington State. They're scheduled to

3:52

incline at Washington, So you certainly understand it from chun stamp point. I

3:57

think he's got enough experience. Of course, the Ohio state experien as well,

4:00

and so if I just removed the Washington State part of it, I

4:03

think it's I think it's it appears to be a very good higher from a

4:08

Washington State perspective. I'll just read you what Ian tweeted. He said,

4:12

some jobs you just don't take greasy move by Pat Chun. Your comments on

4:17

that description, well, I respect the hell out of Ian. I just

4:23

think it's it's hard right now, I certainly know you know i'd look at

4:28

it. I'm not gonna I'm not going to talk about land animals because they

4:30

can be confusing because some of the biggest, baddest land animals or herbivores,

4:34

right, but just think of the ocean as a general. Now you say,

4:38

wait a minute, you know blue whales eat plank, and let's forget

4:41

that point. Basically, what you have, what's the law of the ocean

4:44

fish get eaten by bigger fish. That's just how it works, okay.

4:48

And we're not the biggest fish. We're not the biggest fish. I mean,

4:51

hell, even if you said the biggest fish in the ocean is a

4:55

great white shark, you'd say, well, well, great white shark doesn't

4:58

have any predators. Just you sure about that? Orca? Right, And

5:01

so there's always somebody there to eat you. We got eaten by Alabama,

5:05

we got eaten by USC, and and and I don't know any sensible husky

5:11

that doesn't concede that we are inferior to USC in most material ways. And

5:17

we are inferior certainly in terms of tradition in Alabama and in a lot of

5:23

important ways as well. So we're not the top of the food chain,

5:26

but we're a bigger fish than Washington State. And I think that's it just

5:30

plays out that the market. Now if Pat Shun is supposed to stay at

5:35

Washington State with the utter collapse of their financial issues, with you know,

5:42

facing almost a quarter of a billion dollars, I mean, does a whole

5:46

campus even on a real estate value even total quarter billion dollars, I mean

5:50

you're talking about massive debts, no income coming in. It makes sense for

5:55

Chun on a professional level. And you know he's from Ohio, he's not

6:00

from Spokane, he's not from Chini, right, and so to ask him

6:04

to have that type of loyalty I think is a little bit unreasonable. Well,

6:09

in the words of Qui Gone Jim and Episode one, there's always a

6:12

bigger fish, right, and we found one in U Dub. There's no

6:15

question about that. I just wonder his biggest challenge I've always thought for an

6:19

ad at U Dub is getting more finances to support athletics from upper campus.

6:24

You know, that was Jen Cohen's problem. It was going to be Troy

6:27

Dannon's problem. Now it's going to be Pat Chun's problem because now, Hugh,

6:30

we're going into an era where not only do you need money, but

6:34

you need more money than ever to pay players because that's now a part of

6:39

the equation. So what would you say, Pat Chun's biggest challenges in your

6:43

mind will be at Udub. Oh boy, Well, they've got their own

6:46

debt service coming up. You know, at nine point eight billion, now it's going to go up to nearly eighteen billion. Just the debts excuse me

6:53

million, just the debt service in twenty, you know, a year and

6:56

a half. So you got financial issues, and then of course the changing

7:00

landscape and are the players going to collectively bargain and have a chunk of that

7:08

money and how much is that? So that's a concern. Yes, you

7:13

have to be in the game right now, the Big ten you got to

7:16

have nil collectives of the sort, and you've got to manage that. But

7:23

the whole pay structure will obviously be turned over if players then have an access

7:28

to the designated gross revenues similar to the NFL. Now I'm not saying similar

7:32

to the NFL in terms of percentages. The NFL is usually right around fifty

7:38

percent or just a scoes below fifty percent of the revenues. But even if

7:42

the players were getting ten percent of all revenues, you know, you know,

7:45

I mean if they you know, call it fifteen million, let's just

7:47

say, you know, that would be a big figure that they have to

7:51

handle. So I think that just having some vision about the changing landscape,

7:58

the ReConference. You know, who knows that there's going to be an NCAA,

8:01

How is the conference is going to structure? We don't know. The

8:03

Big ten's gonna would would you bet your pension. Did the Big Ten's gonna

8:07

be around five years? Yeah? I would, Yes, I mean it

8:09

may not be called the Big Ten, but there'll be a I think there'll

8:13

be an entity with those teams in it, maybe minus a couple and plus

8:16

a couple. Well that's my point. I mean there's a lot of chatter

8:20

about, you know, whether it's Chip Kelly or others, you know, the uh smarter than him that have talked about, hey, just blow the

8:26

whole thing up and and have it like a uh you know, one giant

8:31

government league like the NFL. Yeah, you have, you have the different

8:37

conferences, you have the NFC West, AFC South and what have you. But it's all ultimately governed by the NFL and they and they have control over

8:46

those conferences in ways that the NCAA does not have control. Didn't they just

8:50

sign a new CFP contract through like two thousand and thirty or something like that,

8:54

thirty one, twenty and thirty one, So yes, five years,

8:58

yes, fifteen twenty. I don't know that's different. Yeah, at any

9:01

rate, I think there's been more changes in the last three or four years

9:07

than we could have ever envisioned. Can we can we find common ground on

9:09

that we absolutely can and so so now, okay, how are you going

9:15

to be somewhat visionary and preemptive or are you going to just be simply reactionary

9:20

and what have you? So hopefully he can be visionary. It seems to

9:24

me like we just had an interim AD for five months. Is that kind

9:28

of fair to just say Troy Dana was the interim AD? Pat Chung was

9:31

probably the right guy back in October he was prepared to take the OSU job,

9:35

which he didn't get. And you made a comment about Troy dan and

9:39

being gone. I'd love to have you expand on your thoughts of the Troy

9:43

Danen interim AD. Stint Well, I think there's just a way that you

9:46

deal with people, and I think Jen Cohen had just a total consensus of

9:52

respect and even people that I wasn't really fond of. I think Todd Turner's

9:58

was a total name pamby and in a lot of ways. So so there's

10:01

I have not loved every ad who sat in that chair, just me as

10:05

a as an as a husky, and not so much as an analyst,

10:09

but just as an alum and former player. But I've I've always felt like

10:13

the guy in that chair met a certain level, was above the floor in

10:18

terms of just interpersonal relationships, and and from what I know to be the

10:24

uh the case, I don't. I don't think that that standard was being

10:28

met, and so I think that undermines your capacity to lead. And so

10:33

in the end, you know, had had the football team in the basket

10:37

men's basketball team won enough, nobody would have cared. But I don't.

10:41

I think it's far less than ideal, and I think it's probably doomed,

10:46

uh dur for long term failure. The way the route that they were going

10:48

down, well, the way I'm looking at it, Dick, I've said

10:50

this to you guys before. I'm just thinking to myself and trying to convince

10:54

myself that Cavin de Bor just retired, everybody in the football team was out

10:58

of eligibility, and Dannon was an interim guy. That's it. That's right,

11:01

end of story, and we're rebuilt it. And I feel much better

11:05

when I think about that. Hugh Mellon's with us, Hey, Hugh. The owner's meetings going on in Orlando. Mike McDonald was asked about the possibility

11:13

of Jamal Adams coming back. I know that you and I and Dick have

11:16

talked about this before. John Schneider's mentioned it. You saw the quotes from

11:20

McDonald. He's talking about, you know, in detail, right, the

11:24

skill set that Jamal Adams has that he believes would help them at linebacker.

11:28

Are you starting to think that maybe it's more likely than we thought that Jamal

11:33

may come back here? Well, I don't like the chatter. I just

11:39

would like to just say, hey, we've moved on. But yeah,

11:43

I think that if if he comes back at a minimum salary or something close

11:46

to that, it's a possibility. I would contest his his assessment of the

11:54

skill set there. I mean, just if it matters to you, what

11:58

do he say his coverage ability? Yes, well, PFF graded one hundred

12:03

and sixty seven safeties and Jamal Adams was ranked one hundred and forty eight.

12:11

And then when you talk about his ability close to the line, he said, well, hang on, that's not really his forte past defense, Isn't

12:16

it really is forte? Well, his run defense was a one hundred and

12:22

forty third out of one hundred and sixty seven. And then tackling, because

12:26

not every player who saw the field was engaged in a tackle one hundred and

12:31

forty third ranked out of one hundred and forty five safeties. I mean,

12:37

so that's supposedly the inside linebacker, the guy that that's his forte is to

12:41

play around the line of scrimmers. Look, I often I hate having to

12:46

reference PFF because I watched my own tape. But I need somebody riding shotgun

12:50

with me when I make these arguments, because I've always said, hey,

12:54

you know, if I shoot from the where to suit from the hip and

12:58

say hey, AJ Wright had a great game and I didn't really study the

13:01

game, you know, that's not the end of the world. I absolutely

13:05

hold myself above it and get up at four in the morning to watch the

13:09

tape to not have to do that. But I'm just saying hypothetically, if

13:11

I said kJ Wright had a great game and I wasn't really positive, that

13:18

it's not the end of the world. But if I say kJ Wright really

13:20

struggled, that's that's one hundred and eighty degree different assessment. So I better

13:26

be able to walk in to Rent and with a laser point in my hand,

13:28

put on the tape and stand there in front of Snyder and the staff

13:31

and Carol and whoever whatever the staff isn't say the reason I said that he

13:35

had a poor game is this, this, this, this, And I'm

13:39

a point at the laserber. Now you tell me where I was factually wrong or my take was unfair, Like I have to defend that. So I've

13:48

I've look, I've staked out grand on Jamal Adams and it has to do

13:52

with watching the tape and and so. But then you could say, well,

13:56

Melan, you you know what do you know? Right? You dunk?

14:00

Well, okay, fine, I'd have a hard time. That's why I reference PFF and so is to have somebody alongside with me that that that

14:07

at least can apply some numbers to what I see. So no, I

14:11

think it's uh, it's not good news for the Seahawks at all. When

14:13

then you throw the other thing, uh, the off the field stuff and

14:16

and my deep, deep hunch that he is not a good entity in that

14:22

locker room. Yeah, I just you know, the the the reasons mount

14:26

for me to not be in favor of that. You know, it's funny,

14:28

Dick, I was just gonna say, what does he know? He's

14:31

stunk? For God's right, I mean you should that be on the open

14:37

for the What does he know? He's stunk? You know, it's crazy

14:41

like Mike Shanahan, Like I did more playing quarterback than Mike Shanahan and a

14:46

lot of other coaches that you know. It's like, I don't know,

14:48

but it is what it is. But no, you're not getting the voice of Steve Young. We know that. But I I work my mass up

14:52

on the tape and hell right, well, how about Tory Aikman circling in

15:00

the games? I can show you this. This is provable fact, Troy

15:03

Aikman circling Jamal Adams saying, hey, you can you know because he was

15:09

split out against a running back. He says, you got one on one against Jamal Troy Aikman just reflexively in the middle of a broadcast before the ball

15:16

snap a la Tony Romo is telling us as viewers, Hey, this is

15:22

where the pigeon is and he's wearing thirty three, like go after him.

15:24

Like so, so I'm not the only one if you're paying attention. Who

15:30

you know who finds finds it lacking from Jamal Adams. You know, I

15:33

thought it was interesting. I went back and looked at Sam Howell's grades from

15:37

his combine and on NFL dot Com. And then I looked at the grades

15:41

from Michael Pennox's combine and they're almost identical, and the two guys are basically

15:46

the same age. Do you think the Seahawks just decided, hey, we can get a guy just as good as Michael Pennix and trade a much lower

15:52

draft pick for him. I think it's fair on some level, Dick.

16:00

All we can do is say, okay, take the action. Because we

16:03

don't know it's in their head. We can make inferences that you know,

16:07

kind of abductive reading. We can inference to the best explanation about what they

16:10

do, and and say, okay, but so everything you said passes the

16:15

sniff test for sure, and you throw in that he has what eighteen starts

16:22

in the NFL. But then I say, well, wait a minute,

16:26

could they could have they acquired Sam Howe and quietly in that conference room in

16:34

Renton sit around and say this cannot leak. They love Michael Pennix and they're

16:41

dying that draft him with the sixteenth pick. Now I want to say firmly,

16:45

I don't think that's going to happen. If I had to bet,

16:48

hand me a cash, a bag of cash, and make me bet one

16:51

way or the other. I don't think they're drafting Penis, but but nothing

16:53

that they've done with Howell would preclude if they love Penis, from drafting Penick

17:00

because because you still have uh how I mean, I mean, you're you're

17:04

not paying him anything, right, right right? I mean in theory,

17:07

you wouldn't even make the team. Now, I think he's I think it's

17:10

gonna be go to chalk. I think you're gonna have obviously Geno's you're your

17:14

one, and how You're two, and that's gonna be. That's gonna be it. But I can't I can't say that the moves that they've done just

17:22

logically close the door. Maybe the door is closer, right, but it's

17:27

not closed. No. I totally agree with that and the issue that I'm

17:30

gonna have, And I can see myself just boiling blood already on the Monday

17:34

after the draft, if a Seahawks don't draft Michael Pennix or a quarterback in

17:37

the first roe, you say, I told you, dude. They may

17:41

have passed on Pennix anyway. Maybe they're not as high on him as other

17:45

people are. Maybe they don't like this quarterback class like other people do.

17:49

Maybe they thought they saw a better player than Michael Pennox. I will just

17:52

say this, I don't think the Seahawks are gonna be really drafting for need

17:56

that high. I think they'll draft the best player on their and they should

18:00

because this thing is two or three years away from being ready to rock for

18:03

a championship. Yeah. I mean Chad Henny. We talked about this,

18:07

Dave chad Henny and his place on the Chief's roster when Alex Smith was still

18:11

on and they were considering Patrick Mahomes trading up from what twenty seven to ten?

18:18

Chad Henny was not influencing that decision, right, And so I don't

18:22

think that Sam House had influenced a great and I think the truth is that

18:26

if you put a scale of zero to one hundred and said where are this?

18:32

Where is John Schneider? And let's just take two guys, John Schneider

18:34

and McDonald, where are the tandem of them? Where are they on Michael

18:41

Pennix, I could see it landing anywhere from zero to I don't want to

18:44

say one hundred, but you know, mid nineties or something, and they're

18:47

just trying to keep their cards close to the vest. So we don't know here. Let me do this. I know it's a Tuesday night and you

18:53

don't have nothing planning down there? Why do you hang out? We got

18:56

one more segment, right because I got some more stuff I want to run

18:59

by. I saw John Schneider was talking about Akram, the kid from the

19:03

Rams, maybe starting at guard, Anthony Bradford starting at GUARDI you buy that.

19:07

And there's another angle on the patch on thing. And that's the Wazu

19:11

side of all this, right, So we'll hit on all that with you

19:14

next ninety three three KJRFL. Go back to Sophie and Dick on s what's

19:18

radio ninety three point three KJRFL O Washington Huskies Seeattle Crack. We're home for

19:23

the Huskies and the Crackers, all right, Brian Schmetzer, Well join us,

19:30

coming up five forty five tonight. Still still still looking for a win

19:33

number one of the twenty twenty four season. We'll find out what the hell's

19:37

going on at five forty five tonight with Brian Schmetzer six pm tonight. I

19:42

believe we have an opportunity. That's six o'clock tonight for a little you make

19:48

the call. Yeah, you decide the topic of the radio station. This

19:52

could be scary. By the way, at six pm tonight, angry Cougar

19:56

fans ask us question ninety three three kJ FM. Here Melan rejoins us on

20:00

the year. Hey, Huey, let me first of all get your thoughts.

20:06

We talked about Mike McDonald's take on Jamal Adams. John Schneider talked today

20:11

about the possibility of Trevon Ankram, who they picked up from the Rams in

20:15

free agency, or Anthony Bradford starting at guard. What does that possibility mean

20:19

to you? I'm very concerned, and I'll just lay it out like this.

20:25

You've seen how the market has spoke about the guards. Robert Hunt,

20:30

these are all offensive guards, not quarterbacks. Robert Hunt five years one hundred

20:33

million, Jonah Jackson three years fifty one million, Kevin Dotson three years forty

20:41

eight million. Even Damian Lewis, who we got we saw up close and

20:45

personal, right, Damian Lewis got four years fifty three million. Remember that,

20:49

four years fifty three million. Tremaine Ankram one year one point one five

20:56

five. Now, if you're Gino Smith, or you're Kenneth Walker, how

21:00

do you feel about that guy? Starting Like, I haven't done exhaustive tape

21:07

study on him, but just that alone, does that not like these are

21:11

the people that are working eighty ninety hour were studying the tape and that's how

21:17

the market has spoken for him. So I think where we are with the

21:21

both guards and center that trio there is about as concern as it can get

21:26

for me right now. Well, it's amazing how this team has gone from

21:30

like top ten in cap room to bottom one in cap room and they didn't

21:34

really sign anybody from the outside worth note they did keep the big Cat though.

21:41

Is that the right move to keep Williams? To keep whom the big

21:45

Cat? Williams? Oh? Yeah, I would say. Look, I

21:51

was kind of on the fan. Sorry lame response. I understood why they

21:56

wanted to do it, but you know, I don't have numbers in front

22:00

of me. But I cited how how ink how remarkably more poor they were

22:07

on defense. They're not They're decline defensively. Oh geez, I wasn't expecting

22:11

this question, but but it like they went from fourth to nineteenth and from

22:18

week one through eight when they didn't have Williams from and then from nine to

22:22

eighteen, the drop off on all the important stats was precipitous. Now,

22:29

you could say that doesn't prove anything. You could say, well, he was the best player and a bad defense, and had they not had him,

22:33

they would have, you know, given up nine hundred yards a game.

22:37

I mean you you can make that argument. Test tell you. I

22:41

think he's a good player, and I think in the market, you know

22:45

he was gonna hit something close to that. And I think I feel better

22:49

having him because because at least you say it's a solid player. But I

22:53

think he's probably overpriced. And you still, even having said that, somebody's

22:57

gonna have to reconcile why they were so much worse with him if he's that

23:03

valuable. And you'd say, okay, well Noosu and other guys were heard

23:07

and you played better teams. Yeah, there's definitely a sound argument to be

23:11

made to reconcile. Is I just challenged and I could do it myself,

23:18

But I'm a little lukewarm about it. Right. Hey, it's hard to

23:22

explain the new kickoff rules in the NFL. There's videos happening all over the

23:27

internet, and you can check it out. It really kind of looks a

23:30

little xflish for me. Well, it came from the X right, and

23:33

I don't like that. There's something about that doesn't sit good with me.

23:37

But I guess we'll have to let it develop and see. Kickoffs will continue

23:41

to kick from the thirty five, but the other ten players on the kickoff

23:44

team we'll line up at the receiving team's forty yard line, and then nine

23:49

members of the return team and line up in a setup zone between the thirty

23:52

five and thirty I hope I explained that right. We'll have to see this

23:56

in person. But what's your take on the new kickoff setup? Well,

24:00

let me see if I can pull this off. I'm gonna try and sound

24:02

like a rational caveman in my response to the kickoff rules. Okay, And

24:07

by the way, I'm on that thirty third think Tank. We do a

24:11

zoom every Wednesday, and so I've been for several weeks, even months,

24:17

I've been watching this issue get bannered around. Bill Pollion has been very vocal

24:22

in it, and you've got Dean Blandino kind of representing the officials what have

24:26

you. And so I'm just kind of taking in all this stuff, and

24:29

so yes, it looks xfl ish. I would just say this on one

24:34

level, I like it because of what has happened with the NFL of late,

24:41

where I know at one point halfway through the season that when the weather

24:45

was better, there were seven We were at seventeen percent of kickoff returns in

24:49

the NFL halfway through the season, and twenty twenty three it ultimately climbed about

24:55

twenty one to twenty two percent. I'm within a percent there. Okay,

24:59

so we're getting one out of every five kickoff is being returned. So now

25:03

we're gonna see more action. There's gonna be actual, an actual football play

25:07

on this. So in that sense it's good. But in the bigger picture,

25:10

if I take the helicopter and I look from a higher elevation, I

25:14

hate it. I hate all of it because the only rule that I would

25:18

change is move the kickoff back further so these these kickers can't kick it into

25:23

the end zone and get all these touchbacks like the masters. They they redo

25:27

the t boxes right, Because I know it's equipment and all that, but

25:33

just all the forces. So I would move the kickoff back because I want

25:36

to see a kickoff. On every single kickoff, I want to see a

25:38

return and I understand that it has more there's more of an injury rate there.

25:45

Well, guess what on all the plays, you're always going to have

25:49

a list of Oh, now it's at the top, and I want I'll

25:53

argue this. Inighty five hundred car drivers they want to drive two hundred and

25:59

forty miles an hour. They don't want to drive one twenty, And we

26:02

as fans don't want to watch them drive in one twenty. Hell, we can do that when we are kids. Bodacious. The most incredible bull riding

26:10

badass bull of all time bull Ride was nineteen hundred pounds. We don't want

26:15

to guys watch guys on nine hundred pound bulls. We want to watch them

26:18

on nineteen hundred pound bulls. We want to watch the violence that is the

26:23

NFL. I'll just speak for myself. I want to watch the violence that

26:27

is the NFL. Now, there are there some rule changes in with respects

26:33

to consideration for player safety. The been good. Yeah, I think the

26:37

the egregious defenseless receivers. Yeah, okay, I could I could go along

26:41

with that, but that's been inundated with plays where offensive players bring their head

26:47

down. QB's targeting. Now you know you can't drop your weight on them.

26:51

You know, you barely brush their helmet. It's and it's fifteen yards.

26:55

They've gone too far the UH. And I'll tell you what it's all.

26:59

It's all virtue signaling. And you know I can prove that. And

27:02

I told and I had this converse. I've become friends with Dean Blandino. I've had a half a dozen conversations. I told him exactly this, I

27:07

said, Dean, I'm not buying any of this. I believe that the

27:11

NFL owners, yes, they would prefer their former players to have good health

27:15

and poor health. They're not indecent people, but they want money more than

27:18

anything. And it's virtue signaling. And you know how I can prove that,

27:22

I said, Dean, you tell me the last time that there was

27:26

a targeting call away from the ball. And you know, and I know

27:30

that linebackers are using their head as a weapon on offensive lineman and offensive linemen

27:33

are doing the same thing, and nobody ever cares about it because it's not

27:37

on UH at the center point of your television. And yet these offensive linemen,

27:42

these linebackers are taking these hits that are that are absolutely CTE producing if

27:47

if we're to believe the data, but nobody cares because it's not around the

27:51

ball. So I'm very skeptical. I want to I want to see as

27:55

a fan run down there at full speed and yes, it's gonna it's gonna

27:59

have have more injuries. We already know that. Guess what they have.

28:02

There's people who have degrees and risk management about highway safety. We know how

28:06

many deaths there's gonna be on and we're willing to uh to take on so

28:10

much. We're gonna we're willing to take on injuries. We know they're going

28:12

to happen. And guess what, as soon as we take the kickoff off

28:15

the list, there's something else that's that's next. Okay now and play When

28:22

are we gonna stop taking the next most dangerous play off the list and still

28:26

call it football? I think in our lifetime you'll see an NFL game without

28:30

helmets. End the story and just play it safe. Put flags on these

28:33

guys here, we great stuff. Man, we'll talk soon. Power all

28:36

right here, melling with us. We're gonna break Brian Schmitz or what is going on at the Sounders. We'll find out next on ninety three three kJ RFM
