I was born in Izmir, Turkey and I’m a Live Sound & Mixing Engineer, Production Manager, Lighting Operator based in New York City.
I began my music education at Hacettepe University’s State Conservatory in Ankara in 1992 where I studied Double Bass with Tahir Sumer and Bassoon with Orhan Nuri Göktürk. I went on to receive a high school degree and train Bassoon with Tolga Alpay at Dokuz Elylül University State Conservatory in Izmir. I continued my education at Dokuz Eylul University Fine Arts, majoring in Sound Engineering and Technologies.
While studying, I played electric bass for various Turkish pop, rock, and jazz bands and continued to play professionally when I moved to New York City in 2010, in bands such as Paint the Cave, Glitch Cake, Cecilie Beck, and Emanuel Gibson.
From 2011 to 2013, I was a Live Sound Engineer for the eminent live music venues Café Wha?, Groove, and Drom.
Since 2013 I have worked at Nublu, the determinedly multinational East Village music venue as the Live Sound and Recording Engineer. I have recorded, mixed, and collected live performances at Nublu, since 2014, working with a wide variety of international artists.
