Hello Language Lovers!

Today I’m bringing you the sixth episode in this summer’s “Summer School” series where all summer long we are having conversations with language teachers. In today’s episode I’m speaking with Maria, a Spanish teacher in Ireland and an Embodied Spanish Coach.

I really enjoyed connecting with Maria as we discussed methods for learning another language. As you will hear in this episode, she has been able to coach her students through the written word and helped them to develop their own voices when communicating in Spanish. She helps her students to take ownership of the Spanish language through writing and poetry. One thing that I love about the way languages are taught now is much emphasis there is on developing one’s own character and taking the time to feel your way through the journey of learning a language. It doesn’t have to be a painful experience and it doesn’t have to be all about memorizing grammar. Language learning can be fun and Maria’s methodology is proof of that.
