RATING
I just started listening, it's so good!! 10/10 :3 (I just wish there was a bigger fandom..)
Multiple narratives are layered in a way that's surprisingly easy to follow, and the writing is snappy and memorable. Sam's naive inexperience strikes just the right tone with the stories, which get more sinister and compelling the more you think about them. A must listen for Night Vale fans.
Really good show about someone just trying to keep things running as they fall apart around him
This is a fantastic podcast, with interesting and developed characters. Every episode is wonderfully crafted, having both episode-specific storylines as well as the whole-season arc.Sam Enfield is a sometimes worryingly relatable character, especially for any stressed out young person. The LGBTQ+ representation in the show is subtle but great, with, for example, several characters using a range of different pronouns. If you're a Welcome to Night Vale or Magnus Archives fan and looking for a new queer horror podcast, I can't recommend Spirit Box Radio enough!
Wonderful story, beautifully written, engaging and often very sweet characters. Recommend if you like supernatural queer romances among apocalyptic peril.
What an incredible show! From the very beginning, the mystery of what exactly has happened to Madam Marie Enfield to leave Sam the temporary host of Spirit Box Radio drew me in. Add to that stellar writing, incredible music, and phenomenal voice acting from an ensemble cast, Spirit Box Radio isn't one to miss. If you loved the subtext of Destiel in Supernatural, but wished it were canon, then Spirit Box Radio is your cup of tea. I wholeheartedly recommend you tune in and get spooky with this particular audio drama.
This podcast is absolutely fantastic and even more so when you realize, it's one in-house team under a single creator. The blurb doesn't do the plot justice, so if I may give just a little more of a sneak peek; Sam is a young man who takes over a radio show when the original host goes missing. We follow Sam on a journey of self-discovery as he finds he is surrounded by arcane magic and might be more central to his predecessor's disappearance than he realizes. While some minor moments may be a little clunky or predictable, others are graceful and shocking and will have you gasping out loud. The show continues to grow and blossom as time goes on, and it's short enough that it never becomes stale. A little spooky, a little romantic, and a tiny bit cursed, you should *absolutely* give this a try.
Absolutely charming! I'm now very attached to the main cast of characters, and the overall tone of the show is (pardon the pun) bewitching! Plus gorgeous music that loops in my head constantly when I'm not listening!
