Alternate Title: "The Lost Audio Files Episode 1". Splash of Cinema has been through its fair share of trials and setbacks, often disappearing for months on end with little warning. This summer, after a string of successful and wildly acclaimed episodes, several audio files were stolen via a car theft laptop incident, presumably never to be heard again. Luckily, due to the heroic efforts of co-host John (a simple log-in to old recording sessions), we proudly present you with the first of those episodes today, over four months in the making. One interesting and fun thing about this is that it's sort of a time capsule, so have fun listening to our excited chatter about what we're looking forward to, including some projects that have since turned out to be flops. Enjoy this and subsequent episodes of "The Lost Audio Files".
Pete and John are back together to discuss several popular films that debuted in summer of 2022 between streaming services and the box office. Spanning a range of genres and production quality, each film is reviewed and broken down along with a discussion on its impact. From "Minions: The Rise of Gru" to "Nope", 2022's summer slate packed in a lot of fun and some deep themes along the way. Stay tuned for a news segment introduced to the pod, where recent happenings and "upcoming" events in the industry are highlighted. As promised, Episode 23 Emmy prediction results: John- 13/27, Pete- 12/27, Coop- 6/27... I guess some of us know TV more than others :)
