To tennis now where Rafael Nadal produced one of his finest French Open displays to stun Novak Djokovic and equal Roger Federer's record of 20 Grand Slam men's titles. Nadal outclassed world number one Djokovic in a 6-0 6-2 7-5 win, which clinched a record-extending 13th title at Roland Garros.34-year-old Nadal responded with a flawless performance after questions were asked about his level. In the women's category, Polish teenager, Iga Swiatek, completed a stunning rise by becoming the lowest-ranked woman to win the French Open after beating American Sofia Kenin. 19-year-oldSwiatek is a former junior Wimbledon champion but the world number 54's rise to Roland Garros history has been swift and surprising. She showed few nerves to beat fourth seed Kenin 6-4 6-1, lifting the trophy without losing a set in the tournament. Swiatek is the first player from Poland to win a Grand Slam singles title. Lewis Hamilton has equaled the all-time record for career Formula 1 victories by winning the Eifel Grand Prix. The Mercedes driver's win was the 91st of his career and he will surely break Michael Schumacher's record soon. Schumacher's son Mick presented Hamilton with one of his father's old helmets, from his last F1 season with Mercedes in 2012, to recognise the achievement. Hamilton extended his championship lead over team-mate Valtteri Bottas to 69 points after the Finn retired. Speaking after the race, Hamilton described it as an incredible honour to equal Schumacher's record. He thanked his team for their role inmaking it happen.
Championship South Korea's Kim Sei-young has won her first major title with an assured five-stroke victory at the Women's PGA Championship in Pennsylvania. The 27-year-old world number seven began three ahead and her seven-under 63 - the lowest final round in the event's history -took her to 14 under. Kim's closing 63 matched the event's all-time 18-hole record, shared by Americans Patty Sheehan in 1984and Meg Mallon in 1999, and South Korean Kelly Shon in 2017.Her 266 beat the 72-hole tournament record low total of 267 set by American Betsy King in 1992 at Bethesda. The English Premier League says radical proposals for the reform of the sport in England could have a "damaging impact" on the game. Under the proposals, led by Liverpool and Manchester United, the English top flight would be cut to 18 teams. The plans would seethe Premier League hand over the £250m bailout required by the Football League to stave off a financial disaster among its 72clubs.The Premier League would also hand over 25% of its annual income to the EFL.
