Franco-Bosnian author and journalist Slađana Nina Perković talks with host Andrew Singer all about her novel, In the Ditch – the “black humor” of it, aspects of life in that part of the world, and the tradition to which it belongs. We also examine how her wider European experience shapes her perceptions of former Yugoslavia, and its regional progress nowadays. We also enjoy an excerpt from the novel in original language and in Ellen Elias-Bursać’s English translation, performed by Jordan Rouleau.
