WARNING! There’s a new group duo on the block that’s about to electrify the world with the strongest static shock to ever hit the human planet, a force this strong can only be known as Statik Park! These star studded young men are definitely two talented, shinning stars with plenty of great things lined up for their future. Statik Park, a.k.a Yo Rich and Gunna formally known as Tru Starrz, are the two Hip Hop/Pop artists everyone's talking about. All the girls love them and all the guys want to be like them. The pair are based out of Atlanta, Georgia, but was born and raised up north. Yo Rich is originally from Brooklyn, New York Red Hook Projects, and Gunna’s from Southeast, D.C. But from the sound of their music you would never know where they’re from and that’s one of the reasons why Statik Park stands out from the rest. Rich and Gunna are two guys that like to work extremely hard, have fun, party, and most importantly do music. “Music is our everything, we put every ounce of blood, sweat, and tears into our craft to give people fun, enjoyable music that they can love and be able to relate too. We try our best to be different and stand out from everyone else from our music to our swag. When it comes to our music we try to do what people think is hot but we always add our own flavor to it to keep it true to ourselves, we never try to portray something were not in our music. We are a Hip hop/Pop group or as we would call it Hip Pop but we always find it hard to put a label on our genre because you never know what kind of music you’re going to get from us. We love music from Hip Hop to Pop, R&B, and even rock, and we make music based on how we feel at that moment so don’t be surprised if we cook up something a little bit out the box!” "We've been doing music together since 2005 and then formed the group Tru Starrz in 2006. As we grew older our music started to mature, we felt as if Tru Starrz wouldn’t fit as our name in the direction were going with our music so we changed the name to Statik Park January 2010. We met each other as solo artists and didn't decide to become a group until we began working on music together as label mates. We would do songs featuring each other and received better responses than on our solo projects, plus when we would create the songs together we felt that group chemistry. We create songs so easily, we’ll use a concept from a situation we’re going through or we’ll be talking and pull a word or a line out of what we’re saying and use it for a song title. Once we get the concept and title the hook is easy one of us will say a line and the other will come in right away with the next line.” Back in 2007 the duo took a break as a group and tried out their solo careers again. It wasn't until mid 2008 that they did their first track together again. "The first track we did together after the break was called Kandy Gurl. The response we got from that song was so crazy, girls went wild for that song on MySpace, and within the first 2 days of having it up we got over 1000 plays. We couldn't figure out which one of us would take the song so we just put it as Tru Starrz. After that we just stayed a group because people wanted to hear more from us together. We never thought our fans would like Kandy Gurl because it was a little pop which was different coming from an all Hip Hop group, but that song made us see that it was cool to step out the box that’s how we evolved from Hip Hop/Rap artists to Hip Hop/Pop artists." Since becoming a group in 2006, things have been looking real good for Yo Rich and Gunna. They have performed at a number of showcases, open mic's around Atlanta starting out then graduated to doing concerts, sweet 16’s, birthday parties, fashion shows, basketball games, block parties and much more. They have performed for crowds of 5000+ people opening up for different big named artist, featured on different websites and online blogs, and have even been featured in several magazines. There's no doubt about it, these two guys are working extremely hard with their music and from the looks of things it all seems to be paying off for them. It’s very rare to find artists with a grind like Statik Park, never having to wait on the help of anybody they pretty much do it all on their own. They do everything from writing and structuring their own music, designing their own graphics for web pages and flyers, creating their own marketing ideas, doing their own video production, and even designing their own products to start up their own clothing line. "We never had anything given to us we work hard for everything we have. We both worked part time jobs taking every dime from our pay checks to finance our business ventures. We love music so much and we want it too bad there's no way we could sit around and wait for someone to give it to us.” Statik Park definitely have the talent to be much more than just music artists, they have the grind and the mentality to be the next young entrepreneurs in the entertainment business. "We have big dreams and there is a lot that we want to achieve in our future, such as making a name for ourselves with our music, starting our own clothing line, starring in movies, getting a reality show on national television, and even doing commercials and magazine ads. We want to be able to take our fame and inspire people who may look up to us to do positive things with their lives, bottom line we just want to be as successful as God takes us.” You can expect nothing but great things from two talented, humble guys like Yo Rich and Gunna. They plan to keep working and grinding and giving their listeners back-to-back hits to love and enjoy. It seems to be a nice smooth road for the Statik Park as they make their way to the top and they don’t have any plans on stopping anytime soon.
