In this episode, I speak with Emily Barnes about the benefits of sending your child to a licensed Daycare program, the educational merits of someone teaching your child and the different types of behavior training used in the industry.
Emily Barnes owns Barnes Childcare, a licensed family child care facility in Kansas. She began her career supporting people with developmental disabilities and moved into preschool and child care as her career evolved. Her program focuses on teaching social, emotional, and practical life skills to children. She believes that all children are eager to learn and the adult is responsible to ensure an environment that meets the child’s learning readiness. She also believes that when providers understand their role in supporting maternal mental health and family strengths the whole family benefits from childcare services.
