Hello! In this episode, I talk about Body Language & how it affects me not being able to read it, as with many Autistic people, I have difficulty understanding inferred emotions or expressions which are expressed solely through the medium of body language.

It’s interesting that this inability could also be linked to my issues with sarcasm and many other communicative styles, in fact, because of body languages intrinsic connection with almost all human interactions, it can make traversing the world a little more complex, not knowing if someone is angry or sad can make it very awkward when you bound over to them at the wrong time.

Thankfully my colleagues are great and they understand that I don’t always understand inferred emotions just as they know that I am not always comfortable with something they may consider as a basic principle.

It’s super important to remember though I am making this series to help people to understand Aspergers and autism, every case is different. Things that work for me, may not work for others and you should never assume anything, if in doubt… ASK!
