As a member of the Church of Jesus Christ, how do you feel about the symbol of the cross? In this episode, professor and scholar John Hilton III confronts how--though two different things--church members' apprehension toward the symbol of the cross might lead some to downplay the doctrinal significance of Christ's Crucifixion as a part of the Atonement of Jesus Christ. John discusses how during a divisive and discouraging time, the symbol of the cross can unify and uplift us. Additionally, he illustrates the importance of specifically studying Christ's Crucifixion and how doing so can give us greater appreciation for and ability to draw upon the power of the Atonement of Jesus Christ.
