Tonight's special guest is Dr. Lori Pitts from Los Angeles, California , whose first abuser was her uncle who was also her god father. This relationship greatly impacted her relationship with the divine. Lori was sexually violated 3'x throughout her life with the first assault starting at the tender age of 5. She was gang raped during high school and was convinced that this was her fault causing feelings of self-doubt. She survived an attempted rape yet again at age 26, during the pregnancy of her youngest child by yet another family member.  The primary feelings Dr. Lori experienced were extreme guilt, shame, and confusion of why this continued to happen to her. She was beginning to believe that this was what she was placed here for, to be sexually violated by men.  As a former clinical counselor, Dr. Lori is an advocate for mental health and has been in counseling dealing with her abuse for 10+ years. She has most recently dealt with forgiveness of her parents and other adults in her life that did not protect her as a child. Further, she has been working through forgiving herself while removing the guilt and shame associated with the assault. Dr. Lori is currently working on a book to be published later this year, that tells her story shedding light on the many areas of her life that were  effected  by being sexually violated. Dr. Lori regularly shares her story during the Women's Wellness Circle that is held the first Saturday of each month as well as on social media platforms. Dr. Lori most recently shared her story of Alchemy during the invitation of the Anu Practice where she was the key note speaker for their Sunday Service.
