The Opioid Crisis is a complex problem that requires a comprehensive set of solutions. In this episode, we'll hear the stories of a few people in Illinois' sixth congressional district who are stepping up to put an end to the crisis.

Dr. Richard Jorgensen is the Coroner of DuPage County. In 2013, he began educating local leaders on opioid abuse and related issues. His efforts have helped influence policy on a local, state and federal level. In the episode, Jorgensen tells us about the breadth and depth of the crisis.

Then, Karen Ayala, the Executive Director of the DuPage County Health Department, tells us how a local group of experts in medicine, mental health, education and law enforcement are working together to craft policy recommendations.

We'll also hear from Chris Reed, whose work to combat addiction in McHenry County, IL is taking on a variety of forms, including running a sober bar.

And finally, we will hear about what is being done on the federal level and how Congressman Peter Roskam is leading the fight against the Opioid Crisis on Capitol Hill.
