Even though we’ve been living in our new house for several months now, the noise of the nearby motorway can still bug me.

And that itself intrigues me, because there’s always something. If it wasn’t the road noise, probably it would be something else that I’d be snagging over, making it the reason that my life conditions where not quite right.

Of course, there have been times when that “something” has been huge: crises of health or relationship or safety, and we all struggle with things, big and small, that seem to stand between ourselves and the peace we all crave.

imageI actually look for such inner conflicts and dilemmas nowadays, because I have found they make good fodder for stories. Recently I took this one to my story-altar and received a story about a young woman who goes into the mountains in search of a White Deer, one of glimpse of which is said to bring a remembering of one’s true nature, which itself is perfect peace.

As I work through these themes, inviting these stories and sharing them with my audience, I am finding that I end up the other side of the dilemmas I’ve been wrestling with. The road noise isn’t bothering me nearly so much lately, not because it has diminished, but rather because I’m more aware that my own judgements about it create an even bigger disturbance in my mind, and that the peace and quiet I’m seeking comes from touching that within me which is always at rest, perfectly silent.

I explore this theme, and share the story that I received, in my latest podcast. You can find it below.

Best wishes,

Leo.

A Story For You

Would you like to receive a story on a dilemma that you are wrestling with? Sometimes the language of story provides us with the clues we need to step beyond our internal conflicts. See my Story For You offering, wherein we spend time exploring your dilemma, after which I tell an intuitive story for you, live on the call.

Having my own story told to me by Leo was a powerful and transformative experience that helped to deepen my awareness of where I was at during a particularly dark and difficult period..
