I wasn't sure what to expect from Strange Air, but I really like it! The writing is excellent and the actors are really good. I am looking forward to seeing where this one goes.
Strange AirThanks, Kris!
Strange Air is a great listen. A true mystery with plot twists and character connections and evolutions that leave you wanting to know what happens next. Episodes alternate between present and past, layering plot complexity over rich sound design. I’ll be listening to the end to hopefully get answers to what happened to Malcom Smith!
Strange AirThanks for writing this great review, Kristopher. We really appreciate it.
This is just one of those shows that gets you hooked from the start! The acting is superb, the story is fast paced, surprising and well written. The way we get to know more about Malcolm, Chase and the story of Malcoms disappearance is so very well done
Strange AirThanks for the kind words! We really appreciate your support!
It starts in documentary style and switches to scripted audio drama, but the premise and pacing keeps you on the hook. A great cast and quality production values add a lot, but it's the mystery that will bring you back. Bonus: I'd listen to Patrick Fabian read a grocery list.
Strange AirThanks! And we feel the same way about Patrick and his amazing voice...
Excellent show and intriguing concept, this one grabs you from the first line of dialogue. Nice and creepy. It will have you on the edge of your seat!
Strange AirWe're so glad you like it. Thanks for listening!
“Wait….is that…..is that the dude from Better Call Saul?” Those were literally my first words when I first tuned into Strange Air and heard the character of Malcolm Smith. Then I Googled the Cast List – and yep, rammed with talent! So Strange Air has that going for it. But of course, talented actors can only do so much, if the story doesn't stack up, it can all fall apart. Oh wait….that’s great too? Oh yeah – you betcha! All joking (and some mild jealously) aside, Strange Air is an intriguing and interesting podcast, deep and well written. You will find yourself hooked very quickly.
Strange AirThanks, Aaron. We were extremely lucky to get such an experienced and talented cast. And Patrick Fabian, the dude from Better Call Saul, has to be the nicest actor I've ever met.
This podcast has a lot going for it. Compelling hook; effective narrator; and short and sweet episodes that makes binging fly by. Loved episode one and excited to keep going!
Strange AirThanks very much. Reviews like this mean the world to us!
Superb mystery drama with a great cast and storyline. Plenty of twists along the way and can't wait for the next installment, 11 episodes in and still hooked. I could listen to Malcoms radio show as a separate podcast.
Strange AirThank you so much for the kind words. We're currently working on the next season.
This is a great show! It's well written and the actors are all very good. Can't wait to hear more!
Strange AirThanks, Ted. We really appreciate the positive feedback!
Somewhere between Familiar Friend, and Mysterious Midnight Stranger, you’ll find Strange Air. A show that makes you as comfortable as it does anxious. Beneath superb voice acting, and strong production, there’s a brooding sinister air. Don’t miss out on this show!
Strange AirThanks, Skyler. We love the way you described our show!
New favorite! I am all over with what I listen to, I enjoy everything from sports to news to fiction (long commute!). This one has a great hook. I also like the writing and complex characters. The actors are solid as well. I am in!
Strange AirThank you, Tim! We're so glad you're enjoying the show.
Such an intriguing mystery with great characters and sound design! I found myself binging the first season hoping to find what happened to Malcolm and was VERY surprised at the season one finale! Looking forward to season two!
Strange AirWe really appreciate you posting this amazing review and we're especially glad you were surprised by the finale. Thanks for your support!
I was worried this was going to be yet another woman making an audio blog, talking into a microphone, telling us about her investigation, but that is not the case. It is a proper audio drama, featuring a whole cast of actors and soundscaping. It is, however, yet another story about the supernatural. But different, in that it is grounded in science, making it all the more compelling.I was also worried, that the mystery (which is an awesome one, by the way – I mean how can a man suddenly vanish from the face of the earth mid-sentence?) would not be properly resolved. There is a trend in audio dramas to stretch the mystery out over several seasons, until the listeners have forgotten all about it, then slowly teeter out without ever being resolved. That is not the case in this show. The mystery is resolved at the end of the second season, and the resolution is believable and satisfactory. The characters too are fully rounded, particularly that of the protagonist, who is not only dealing with grief, but also with a serious illness and is going through a general crisis of identity, souring her relationship with her boyfriend and mother. Add to that a touch of philosophy and the unique merging of science and religion, it truly is one of the most compelling mysteries I listened to. I mean, normally I listen to one episode a day, but this is one I just had to binge. I haven’t enjoyed a good sci-fi mystery like this since “Clockword Bird”. I thoroughly recommend it.
Strange AirThank you for taking the time to write such an insightful review. You understood exactly what we were trying to accomplish and your kind words are appreciated.
It was super entertaining and I binged it all in one day. The ending was...not my thing (no spoilers) but I am looking forward to season 2!
Strange AirThanks for the great feedback. We just started production on season two. And we're big fans of the original Texas Chainsaw movie too!
Honestly, I like the entire plot of this podcast
Strange AirThanks! That's great to hear. We really appreciate the positive feedback.
This is an excellent production and a must listen to podcast. The storyline is great any there is a nice level of mystery as Chase goes searching for her father's whereabouts. It is definitely worth a 5 star rating. The only (small) thing that I think this podcast could do without is to highlight a young girl with an alcohol problem. I personally do not think it adds anything to the show's value. She portrays a typical, pampered Californian that may not relate to many other people around the country. But overall the show is excellent and well worth the time. Great actors, great storyline - all you could ask for.
Strange AirThanks for writing such a detailed review. We really appreciate the feedback.
Was totally riveted from the very start, which then got me looking for your other productions, love this type of audio drama, keep them coming!
Strange AirThanks. That's great to hear. The two of us had a blast working on Strange Air and we just started writing our new project. Miles to go before we sleep!
They basically had me until the last episode and they ruined it with that one for me
This audio series builds as it goes, became very intriguing near the end.
Strange AirThanks! We're glad you enjoyed it.
Enjoying the mystery/story thus far but loath the passive toxicity that the main character has towards her partner. I feel like we are supposed to think it’s cute and quirky but it’s actually shitty behavior.
Strange AirYou're absolutely right. Chase has a lot of issues because of what happened to her father and her behavior is most definitely not cute or quirky. She has a lot to learn to before this story is over.
