This is Success Secrets, a weekly show for knowledge creators living & breathing their online businesses, and I'm your host Erin Hook Kelly. I'm talking to YOU, whether you're a business coach, service provider or other kick ass online entrepreneur, and we're gonna get specific on using your email list to create happy clients & engaged subscribers.Email might not FEEL as sexy as social media, but I guarantee connecting with a steady stream of new faces via logical automated emails is waaaaay sexier than creating yet another social media status that gets a handful of likes. Today is a super quick episode, and I want to share something that has come up in the build-your-own-funnel challenge that Adrienne Dorison and I are hosting called "Don't Propose Too Soon". On day 1 we brought up the idea of TOTALLY free content, which I've discussed on the podcast before, and asked people to share their free content in Adrienne's FB group. Quite a few people are rocking out their free content via videos, blog posts and podcasts -- but I saw a large number still asking for an "opt in" to get their content. So I want to paint a picture for you, if the difference between free content and an opt in still isn't clicking. EXAMPLE 1: you're a yoga instructor that wants to build her online business bc it's exhausting driving back and forth to the studio every day, only to have a few people show up. There has to be a better way! So you create a 7 day yoga challenge, that you're excited to offer FREE, and share it alllllll over the interwebs. But it's a slow trickle of signups and you wonder if maybe people just aren't interested in online yoga classes.EXAMPLE 2: you're the very same yoga instructor, but you spoke with a talented entrepreneur friend that told you to get some darn FREE content up on YouTube, and link to the challenge in every video description as well as talk it up at the beginning and end of the videos. You start seeing a steady stream of people signing up for your challenge, and you're converting them into paid online yoga clients almost daily. Many of your new clients tell you that they wouldn't have signed up for the for the yoga challenge, bc EH not enough time in the day, and they already get so many emails....BUT, after loving one of your free youtube videos...they wanted more of you, and they were excited to get a daily yoga video during the challenge. That's the big difference between combining totally free content and a smart, related opt in vs JUST an opt in. If you want to learn MORE about this among other things, sign up for the challenge at erinhookkelly.com/proposeIt started on Monday, but not to worry, the previous day's emails are linked up in every email so you can catch up at your own speed. And the program I'm co-leading with Adrienne is now OPEN for registration -- we'll be digging deep into your business and brainstorming out + creating a killer automated funnel so you too can have a steady stream of subscribers and new clients. You can learn more about the program at erinhookkelly.com/connected. We have a few super special bonuses that will be going away on Monday, March 21st at midnight eastern time. So that's it! Hope that not only clears up the difference between free content and an opt in offer, but inspires you to start thinking about how you can tie the two together for your own business!!!
