While I enjoyed Superstition, it wasn't to the extent others seemed to.Jack is a strong lead character and a select few persons from the main cast, such as Tom, are fleshed out. However, most of the characters could benefit from more distinctive personalities and behaviours. I found it hard to recognise who was who at times. As for the story, it is mostly interesting to follow Jack's exploration of the eponymous town and it's secrets. However, there are some pacing issues and inconsistent plot choices. For example, very early on (before the audience are really settled in the show's world and structure), we're whisked back in time with very little explanation. If you follow the plot closely around this episode you can orient yourself and even understand the purpose of the backstory, but it's a strange decision at such an initial stage of a new series' existence to mess around with the focus of everything. There are some noteworthy issues with editing, such as voice performances that are clearly recorded remotely and not levelled to match each other. There are also a few cases where words are incorrectly pronounced, exposing the actor's unfamiliarity with the vocabulary of the script. It's a shame the show appears to have been cancelled by it's creator as, with more experience under everyone's belts and some effort to iron out the problems of the opening batch of episodes, there is much potential for a lengthy stay in the town of Superstition.
