Ahoy, surfers and beachgoers! Welcome to your Charleston surf zone forecast brought to you by the National Weather Service.

Today, we've got a moderate risk for rip currents, so stay safe out there. The surf height is 2 to 3 feet, and the UV index is very high, so don't forget the sunscreen! The water temperature is in the mid-70s, with mostly sunny skies and temperatures in the lower 80s. You can expect southwest winds at 5 to 10 miles per hour.

Tomorrow, the rip current risk drops to low, with surf heights of 1 to 2 feet. It'll still be mostly sunny with a slight chance of showers and thunderstorms. Temps will be in the lower 80s with southwest winds around 10 miles per hour.

Looking ahead to the weekend, Saturday and Sunday will have surf heights of 2 to 3 feet, with a mix of sun and a chance of showers and thunderstorms. Highs will be in the lower to mid 80s with southwest winds around 10 miles per hour. Memorial Day continues the trend with 2 to 3 feet surf heights and mostly sunny skies.

For our friends in Beaufort, Coastal Colleton, and Coastal Jasper, you've also got a moderate risk for rip currents today. The surf height is 1 to 2 feet with very high UV index, so protect your skin! The water temperature is in the mid-70s, with mostly sunny weather and highs in the lower 80s.

Tomorrow, rip current risk decreases to low with surf heights around 1 foot. Similar weather conditions with a slight chance of showers and thunderstorms.

As for Tybee Island and surrounding areas, a moderate risk for rip currents is in effect today with surf heights of 2 to 3 feet and an extreme UV index. Stay safe and sun-protected out there!
