It's Start by Believing day! Did you know the two behaviors shown to be most helpful to survivors are having someone to talk to and being believed? Well luckily Kim and Kara are here to talk to you and believe you. 
This week, the ladies discuss triggers vs. avoidance, buying land, and lessons in consent via ear-piercing. Alison Jones-Lockwood joins Kim and Kara to talk about End Violence Against Women International and the Start by believing campaign as well as the upcoming annual conference held in Chicago, IL.

Alison Jones-Lockwood is nationally recognized for her expertise managing and assisting victim advocacy programs. Ms. Jones-Lockwood has trained extensively on the criminal justice response to sexual assault, including the impact of sexual assault in the aftermath. She has trained countless advocates, law enforcement personnel, and healthcare professionals in local, regional, statewide, and national trainings. Ms. Jones-Lockwood began her career working with survivors and advocates within the U.S. Navy, and has worked for rape crisis centers in California, Kansas, and Missouri.
