"Baila, Baila, Baila"...Tamarindo's Music Episode!
On this special musical episode of Tamarindo, we have not one, but two very talented #WOC artists that are blending genres, while honoring their R & B roots to create some beautiful sounds. Before we get to our interviews with our special guests Abrina and Malia, we reflect on the #Urban Latinx music takeover that is fully entrenching itself in mainstream American culture at the moment. We also throw a few Latinx songs in the basura that we think are a little tooo played out. Let us know if you agree with us or what you would put in the basura instead!About our guests:  Abrina is a singer-songwriter, originally from San Diego, who’s  upcoming EP “Sunset Cliff” opens with a Latin trap single and is followed by nostalgic tracks that bring together the influences of SoCal R&B, Hip hop, and Latin music. Find her on all streaming platforms and on instagram: @abrinamusic   Malia is an alternative soul/r&b singer, guitarist and songwriter. Her last project ‘Late Bloomer’ has amassed millions of streams and has been featured on the Fox show “Star” with Queen Latifah and the upcoming ‘Truth be Told’ starring Octavia Spencer. She’s toured with Syd from The Internet and is a part of the artist collective Soulection. Her sounds are often called healing and her newest EP titled Ripe  is one of her rawest and most soulful deliveries yet. Find her on all streaming platforms and on instagram: @maliavibes We hope you're excited to have #Tamarindopodcast in your ears! Discovering Your Energy Chupacabras and More About Stress!
El #Estres! On this episode of Tamarindo, Ana Sheila talks to us about what #stress is really.  We learn why stress is not ALL bad but why it’s also more harmful than we think. Chronic stress is actually linked to the 6 leading causes of death. Many of the stressors our communities face like financial or familial stress are not ones we can easily change without policy changes but Ana Sheila walks us through some of the things we CAN do to start changing our relationship with stress like changing our #mindset and discovering our #energychupacabras so that we can keep doing impactful work for our communities. We include a technique used by the stress management company @Baskandbeing. You can learn more about them here https://baskandbeing.com/ We also highlight Encantos, a 100% Latinx owned education entertainment company for families.
