I was like, how do I help compared to how other places help?

I'm not an interventionist. I don't have speech therapy.

I, I'm just a woman in my home giving really good instruction,

I think. I mean, I hope it's good and really cool experiences.

It really took me a while. I really needed a confidence boost because I was nervous.

And it took me really up until this year of just watching it grow naturally

to be like, OK, I know that I'm making a difference.

I know that I'm helping. And unfortunately, it didn't just come natural to me.

And it probably doesn't to you either. I work with so many people who are like,

I just, I don't know, I post things on social media and I just get nervous because

I'm like, it's not really the way that I want it to be. It's not there yet. And I'm like, I know.

I know exactly how that feels. And then you don't get consistent with your marketing.

So we really need to get a lot of clarity over what we offer,

why we offer it, and really how it helps kids. You're going to need to do some hard work.

Remember for a little bit, it was, I didn't even know what we were.

Who you are what you do and why you do it we got to keep it simple we got to

keep it straightforward we got to avoid a whole bunch of jargon and real industry

specific language that but parents don't get it.

If you use all of these academic terms, parents really don't understand it.

And you can begin to confuse and really alienate your audience.

So it's gonna be really important that you know, what are parents looking for?

What are they asking for? This is what we call target market research. We start trying to understand the

words that parents are using so that we can use that in our messages. is.

We also have to focus on being different. So the first one is getting clarity.

The second one is being different. What really does set you apart? And if you're like, I don't know,

I just do this out of my home. I don't know. I don't get it.

I don't know. What do I do? Do you have really great relationships?

Do you get to prioritize student learning? Do you get to prioritize relationships?

Do you get to really know students? Do you have a really excellent team? Do you get to have a lot hands-on learning?

Do you get to have enrichment days?

Are you able to differentiate when you need to? Are students able to excel?

Are you able to pull back whenever you need to?

Sometimes you just need to be able to see what it is that you do.

We go on field trips. Well, how many field trips do schools go on a year? One, if any?

You're really taking learning into the setting that kids really do thrive in.

You have to really highlight how you are really valued.

And you may need to ask your students, what makes us different?

Or you may wonder, what am I gonna do? If you're just starting,

what am I gonna do that's really gonna make us different? What is your teaching philosophy?

Right there. How's that different than public school or private schools?

That's what helps you to shine through in your communication.

The next is to really think about emotional resonance being a critical element

That's what this is all about. And that means you're going to have to be transparent.
