Welcome to Episode 2 of Teaching Science, a podcast dedicated to exploring scientific literacy, and ways to improve it in the world we live in. My name is Anant, I’m a third-year medical student, and I’m your host. In today’s episode, we explore the role of physicians in educating patients, and what one particular physician’s experience is in combating misinformation in his community, about COVID, but also beyond. Our guest today is Dr. Brent Reifsteck, an in-patient pediatric physician and leader at Carle Foundation Hospital in the Urbana, Champaign community in central Illinois. Dr. Reifsteck has dedicated much of his time educating the local community of medical issues, and I’m so excited for you to listen to my conversation with him.
