From the outside, it appeared that the List family had it all. The head of the household, John List, had moved his family to New Jersey after landing a high-paying banking job. John, his mother Alma, wife Helen, and their 3 children lived in a sprawling 19-room mansion known as Breeze Knoll. Alma, Helen, and the children enjoyed their comfortable lifestyle and settled in to their new home. They had no clue that by 1971, John had lost his job and the family's livelihood was hanging by a thin thread. Instead of confronting the family's issues head-on, John devised a violent plant to get eliminate his mother, wife and children and start a new life on his own. In this episode, we'll describe the details of his crimes and the break down the scientific techniques that finally brought him to justice.
