Ellie and Rhiannon discuss Algalife, Save Your Wardrobe, Bert&B and Staiy... all in the name of slowing down fast fashion!
This podcast is all about innovation and this week they discuss bright ideas in the FASHION industry. Each year, 92million tonnes of clothing go into landfill and 20% of this has never been worn. The ideas featured in this episode are doing things a little differently… and focussing on the well-being of people and the world.
What is in store:
- Meeting Famous Podcasters: Last weekend Rhiannon (sort of) met a famous podcaster and a few years ago Ellie met Elis James, who hosts one of their favourite podcasts with co-host John Robins.
- Algae Update: Algalife is a start-up that aims to develop algae-based materials for fashion and textiles.
- Save your Wardrobe: How often do you forget what is in your wardrobe? We only wear a TINY fraction of what we have and this generates a huge amount of waste. We are entering a new era of digitalising the fashion industry, this is a new untapped space and SYW is at the forefront of it, with the welfare of the planet and people at the heart of what they do.
- Special Guest: Ellie chats with, friend andBert&B Founder, Alicia Newman about her sustainable jewellery business.
- Note to Self: This week's NTS is Staiy, a progressive marketplace is essentially a one-stop-shop for brands & people on the same mission to accelerate the transition towards sustainable fashion.
