Podcaster and company founder Mark Steadman closes out the week with a cocktail and a round-up of the past 7 days in the indie podcasting world, delivered with a warm wit and a slice of lime. Expect opinions, analysis of the business and tech of podcasting, and perhaps the occasional rant.

Mark has been creating on-demand audio since 2004, started his first podcast network in 2008 and founded Podiant in 2016, a company that helps podcasters produce, post and promote their podcasts. Mark started the 5pm Club because he wanted to learn to make cocktails, and when Mark has a drink in his hand, he likes to talk about podcasting.

Not a drinker? Not a problem. Mark will be making non-alcoholic cocktails too.

The 5pm Club takes a different approach to other podcasts-about-podcasting. It's not an advice show or a news briefing (that's the other British guy). Nor does it focus on the New York media scene's narrow definition of podcasting as an extension of American public radio. The 5pm Club is about celebrating the wins and commiserating the losses that are the lot of the indie creator.
