Hey friends!

You are in for a special treat today with my friend, Brittney Serban. Brittney started her mothering journey while working as a full-time nurse. She is now a stay-at-home Mom of Four Kids under the age of six. Brittney and her family have spent the last few years serving as missionaries in Thailand, navigating family life abroad and simultaneously serving in full-time ministry. From baby blues and identity crises, to moving abroad with young children, her desire is to be a relevant and encouraging voice to mothers and women facing the challenges of life.

In this episode, Sam and Brittney discuss the struggles and challenges of motherhood and how to overcome negative thoughts and emotions. They emphasize the importance of renewing the mind and taking thoughts captive, as well as the need for community and support. They also address the issue of comparison and the importance of recognizing individual capacities and embracing grace.

In this conversation, Brittney and Sam discuss topics related to overcoming fear, embracing confidence, personal identity, social comparison, and motherhood. They provide practical tips and encouragement for women to walk in freedom and renew their minds. Brittney also shares where listeners can connect with her and find her book.

Takeaways:

  • Motherhood can be challenging and overwhelming, but it's important to recognize and address negative thoughts and emotions.
  • Renewing the mind and taking thoughts captive is a daily practice that requires self-discipline and grace.
  • Community and support are crucial in navigating the challenges of motherhood.
  • Comparison is detrimental and it's important to recognize and embrace individual capacities and strengths.
