Varshan spoke to Willem van der Merwe from SANRAL’s Northern Region, about the iconic status of the Nelson Mandela Bridge. Willem van der Merwe was the project manager for the Nelson Mandela Bridge and recalled when Madiba had attended the launch of the bridge in 2003.
