Hey friends! We’re wrapping up the 2021 Smart Girl Summer Series today with the wonderful Holley Gerth. Holly is a life coach and author, and she brings a wealth of insight and wisdom for all of the introverts out there (including me!).

Holly is a Wall Street Journal bestselling author, podcaster, and life coach, with a Master’s of Science in counseling. She has spent the last decade empowering nearly a half a million people to realize their God-given potential through books like You’re Already Amazing, Fiercehearted, and The Powerful Purpose of Introverts.

In this episode, Holley and I take a deep dive into stepping into God’s calling despite your fear, how she manages comparison and imposter syndrome (yes, even today!), and how we need to honor our personal capacity and purpose.

Listen in to learn more about:

  1. Holley’s story of transitioning out of a full-time job to pursue writing and how she worked through that fear.
  2. Looking at our own purpose and not other people’s journey and calling. We need the truth speakers to call us back to our true selves, just like God does.
  3. Resisting the constant input from others that tells us to do all the things, all the time that leads us to feeling like we’re falling behind and distracted from what really matters.

Favorite quotes:

1. If we just keep doing the next thing and then the next thing, then God will meet there and turn it into what he wants it to be.

2. We have to be willing to start out being bad at stuff and know that’s okay, that's the only way through it.

3. So as long as something really matters to us, we are going to have an element of fear when we pursue it.

4. Pausing and asking: how has God designed me? And believing whatever the answer is, is intentional. We are created perfectly for His purpose for our lives.

5. I think we underestimate what a little bit at a time can do in the long term if we’re consistent.

Great things we discussed:

1. Holly Gerth

2. Introvert Quiz

3. Yasso Frozen Yogurt Bars

4. Evernote

5. Standing Strong
