Link to the presentation used by Maryam on this Call.

This is a new section to The Ally Show, where we are adding the recordings for our new project, WePause Weekly. During the second WePause session, Maryam Bijanzadeh led a discussion on emotion theories and their cross-cultural applications. We also had a meditation session led by me, Ali, to help everyone regulate their emotions during the session. Maryam presented research on physiological responses and brain activity patterns associated with fear. We discussed managing emotions through mindfulness practices and breathing exercises. I emphasized the importance of emotional intelligence, focusing on self-awareness and recognizing specific emotions to enhance it.

More About Dr. Maryam Bijanzadeh:
An engineer and neuroscientist, Maryam is deeply passionate about the human brain and psychology. With a Ph.D. in neuroscience, she now works as a staff scientist at UCSF, blending her interests in exploring human emotion and its neural underpinnings with her deep knowledge of ML. She has also been a great thought partner in starting WePause. So, join Maryam in this session to learn about our emotions.
