This podcast has a different feel from other apologetics podcasts. The mixture gives the Christian a balance of theologically-informed apologetic advice mixed with an edge that can be used to engage the average Joe on topics ranging from 1980's rock to 2019 superhero movies. One example is the episode evaluating End Game where the insight is given that each main hero experienced a shift in their ethical systems when pushed: Captain America becomes a consequentialist, Thor shifts from virtue ethics, and Ironman becomes a deontologist. Information like this can be used to intelligently engage your colleague...or...14-year old son. On the humor side: if you like sarcasm, Garrick could be your master, and if you like the throwbacks to the 1970's and 1980's (1986 is reportedly the best year) you will find yourself laughing along - even the visiting guests take shots, which is always funny.As an aside, I would have to offer up a different way of seeing the face-offs between Harry Potter characters and the Marvel or Star Wars characters...You can't diminish the warrior prowess of someone like Luke Skywalker (young Luke, not old Luke) or Captain America. Though they can't block a wizard curse with a lightsaber or vibranium shield, with warrior readiness, they can strike before the Harry Potter characters can do their magic. Basically, my position is that the Marvel and Star Wars heros act prior to the magic and can throw lightsabers or sheilds/use the force or missles/use Jedi mindtricks far before the wizards do their thing...my 2 cents.
