This is Kat Kruger, Dungeon Master on d20 Dames, which is a storytelling podcast currently powered by Dungeons & Dragons. Every other week a group of five daring Dames comes together to explore a fantastic realm, befriend (or behead) monsters, and punch creeps. This is Episode 4 from Season 3. It encapsulates the broad emotional range of the players and storytelling while also showcasing something new we decided to try out this season: roleplaying memories. In this episode, we hear some backstory for one of our protagonists, Riot Bonezerker. The flashback was part of a longer recording that was done separately with guests playing Riot's siblings. We sprinkled the memories as flashbacks throughout Season 3 and this is just one instance of how it added more depth to a character’s story arc. Thank you so much for listening.
