Questions:

“When should I invest in private lessons?”

“How will I know what level of college baseball I can play?”

“What’s the best way to get noticed?”

"When should I start lifting?"

College Seniors, the real world doesn't care that you didn't get drafted...

accept that and you'll be able to dominate what's next.

Show Notes:

Dave from, Torrington, CT, writes, “when should I invest in private lessons?”

  • Age of player
  • Interest level of the player
  • Financial situation
    • You can do this without spending a fortune

Craig from, Southington, CT, writes, “How will I know what level of college baseball I can play?”

  • I’ve the charts
    • “If you throw this hard, you can play this level”
    • Some truth, not the whole story
  • Pay attention to where other kids in your school have gone/are going
    • And other kids in your league
  • Ask someone you trust

Rick from, Milton, MA writes, “My son is a rising senior in high school, what’s the best way to get noticed?”

  • It’s almost too late!
    • This process needs to start a summer ago
  • Get to camps that have a lot of the schools you’re looking at attending
    • Make a list of where you want to play (realistic!!)
  • Email those coaches ahead of time
    • Email them again
  • Introduce yourself when you get there (politely)
    • Now you stand out from the herd

Travis from, Danvers, MA, writes, “when should I start lifting?”

  • NEVER
  • Your old school stuff (push ups, sit ups, pull ups, BW squats)
    • All teach fundamental movement patterns and can be done NOW
  • At 13-14 you can start migrating into the weight room
    • When you hit the big field

Rant on Non-Drafted College Seniors

  • 3 options
    • Give up
    • Play over seas
    • Don’t take no for an answer
  • Not an option
    • Telling me 5-10-20 years from now that “you could have…”
