We blinked...and what we thought would be 6-8 weeks of a pandemic has turned into two years of a pandemic. And, while the world may be ready to toss their masks in the trash and resume their everyday lives, the pandemic is far from over. A new variant has cases on the rise in China and Europe, and it's only a matter of time before the United States sees a surge from the same variant. All of this is happening just as restrictions are being lifted nationwide. 

While we know we can't live in fear of a virus, the reality is that this pandemic is still very real, and the most vulnerable continue to be most at risk as the rest of the world prematurely behaves as if COVID has disappeared. As a result, we find ourselves in a tough spot: how do we balance wanting to live a more normal life while caring about our human neighbors who don't have the privilege of resuming their pre-pandemic lives?
