Hi listeners, thank you for listening to this episode! I hope to make more episodes in the near future! The reservation system was meant to have lands accommodating the original land and lifestyle of First Nations people, but that has not been fulfilled throughout history. Reservations include a painful history of broken promises, stolen lands, and limited help. The Lakota people inhabit 6 reservations in South Dakota, and they struggle with many issues including substance abuse, poverty, and economic issues. Sharing and listening to this podcast and not allowing those stories to be forgotten is a very good way for you to help!
