The Black Women's Wellness Podcast Mission is to help Black Women overcome stress by amplifying an array of wellness offerings.

Our Vision is to ensure that all Black Women live productive, meaningful, and robust lives unhinged by stress.

Our Guest for this episode is Camara Chambers, from Toronto Canada and hear the global victories and shared challenges #BlackWomen across the #Diaspora experience.

Camara Chambers #Founded Let’s Hike T.O. in July 2021 after several years of leading hikes and noticing a distinct lack of #Diversity in the members of her local hiking club. Determined to address the issue, she approached the club’s board but was met with resistance at her suggestions to be more #Inclusive in its membership efforts. After gathering a group of friends and brainstorming what a truly inclusive and diversity-focused hiking community would look like, Let’s Hike T.O. was born.

Let’s Hike T.O. is committed to diversifying the hiking community through easy access to safe and enjoyable hikes for anyone interested in hiking, with a particular focus of intentionally engaging people of color, newcomers and young adults aged 20-40. Let's Hike T.O. envisions a world where everyone feels welcome, accepted, and respected in the hiking community and has access to positive hiking experiences on urban trails in Toronto and natural trails across Ontario. We will achieve this vision by providing dedicated outreach to under-represented communities such as people of color, newcomers, and youth and offering safe and enjoyable hikes led by trained leaders of diverse backgrounds.

Camara Chambers is a trained #Hike #Leader (since 2014) and has led hikes across southern #Ontario. Camara Chambers is originally from the urban metropolis of #London, England, and moved to Toronto in 2011, as she discovered her love of hiking.

In her day job, Camara is a #SeniorManager at Toronto Metropolitan University, and is responsible for a number of leadership programs at the university’s #ThinkTank, the #LeadershipLab. In 2019, Camara was chosen as one of 100 Black Women in #CanadaToWatch, she is a #CivicAction #DiverseCityFellow, and was recognized as a national leader in the Canadian nonprofit landscape in #ThePhilanthropist.

Comment Below, did you consider how colonized hiking is and how it often excludes Black Women?
