0:06

That's Nile. How are you doing? Are you team

0:09

Ronaldo or are you team Messi

0:11

in general? because you've gotta go one or the other.

0:13

Oh, I'm gonna edge for Ronaldo.

0:16

purely because I was in the stadium when

0:18

he scored his first goal for man united. Okay.

0:20

Sentimental reasons. I'm a hundred percent team

0:22

messy. Oh, because he's a little magician. and

0:24

this World Cup and Qatar looks like it's gonna be his

0:27

last World Cup. And there's a brilliant podcast that can't

0:29

wait to get stuck into from NPR

0:31

that looks back at his career and

0:34

forward to the World Cup in Qatar.

0:36

It's called the Last Cup. Is it called the Last Cup

0:38

because he's never won the World Cup? We haven't done

0:40

it. It's always been the one that's eluded him. Yes. So

0:42

it it could actually be his first cup as well.

0:44

But it's called the last cup and it's covers

0:47

more than just his journey in the tournament as

0:49

well. It cruise, capitalism, immigration,

0:51

class, and race. Things gonna be one of those

0:53

podcasts that I just end up binging on

0:55

when there's not a footfall on the tele obviously. Check

1:34

and welcome back to the Bluerroom

1:36

EWSE podcast with me, Peter

1:38

McFarlane, and I am delighted to

1:41

say I am joined once again by

1:43

my amazing cohost who needs

1:45

no introduction. But as always, I'm going

1:47

to anyway. The Finch Farm,

1:49

fan favorite the journalistic Juggernaut

1:52

and multi award winning, multi talented

1:55

queen of Walton. She is

1:57

back the one, the only

1:59

miss Sarah Halpin. Sarah,

2:02

how are we?

2:03

Oh, well, I feel a lot back after

2:05

that introduction. I quit

2:08

Queen of Walt and I'll have the harmon

2:12

harmonistic junk and all.

2:14

You know, I've I've got I've got to give

2:16

you a proper intro. I'm gonna say, I've got

2:18

to always That's amazing pleasure.

2:20

Yeah. Is that all is that all there

2:22

with with with the best of them so far?

2:24

Yeah. I think so. I didn't like the ambulance

2:27

or road dumpster that will come a lot like. And so

2:29

you'll throw the way and answer. That was a good one as well,

2:31

isn't it? The wolf the Bolton Hole

2:33

Park, that's been thrown in there before as well. Yeah.

2:35

you you you're just gonna have, like, a list of

2:37

them by the end of the season.

2:40

I want, like, a walkout song when

2:42

when we have a night game at Walt will park. Oh,

2:45

absolutely. Well, to I've had I've

2:47

had a little a little play around with with doing

2:49

a little intro song today, but it didn't quite

2:51

it didn't quite sound good enough.

2:53

You know, I've gotta make sure that the standards are high when

2:55

you're on. So at some point,

2:57

I'll try and get the the balance right with

2:59

with the intro song for for for one of these

3:02

podcast for you. Okay.

3:04

I've never felt so. I've never felt

3:06

so important in my whole life. I

3:09

can do right now.

3:10

I'm here for a less well, I look forward

3:12

to I look forward to the next one with the

3:15

with

3:15

the epic with the epic

3:16

music track. Will it? epic music track.

3:18

Yeah. Yeah. Well,

3:20

a safe bet. It's been a couple of weeks since we've actually

3:22

managed to get on to do one of these for for various

3:24

reasons. And obviously, with the international

3:27

break as well, it's kind of meant that we've had a

3:29

little bit of a hiatus, a little bit of time

3:31

off, but we are we're we're back with the license to

3:33

be back and and bringing you

3:36

our ever women content for the Blue Room.

3:39

I mean, to be honest there, the the the first place

3:41

to start really will be a bit

3:43

of an international round up there given

3:45

given some of the fantastic performances that

3:47

some of our Gales have given for the national

3:49

teams over the last couple of weeks.

3:52

I think probably the best place to start will

3:54

be to mention Jes Park, a

3:56

fantastic a fantastic occasion

3:59

for hair to score and a

3:59

debut for the lionesses, literally within

4:02

seconds of coming off the bench. Yeah.

4:05

Absolutely. And I think, you know,

4:06

it just sort of shows

4:09

the reason why Jesse has has decided

4:12

to to go out on loan to progress in her

4:14

career. And I think, you know, she'll be

4:16

happy in in a choice that she's come

4:18

to Eberton given the performance

4:20

that she's made and

4:21

she's seen, you know, she's

4:22

been called up to the last two senior squads

4:24

with the line s's and then to obviously make

4:26

her full debut. I should

4:29

say, to to make a baby to come off the

4:31

bench and and score with, you

4:33

know, with one of the first touches. It was

4:35

just It was just great to see. She's

4:38

such a talented young player. She really

4:40

is. I think that's clear, but everyone who's

4:42

watched just play. She's she's an exciting

4:44

player

4:44

to watch and has a massive

4:46

future with the lionesses, I'm sure. But

4:48

as I say, I think, you know, just it's

4:51

a it's credit to Ebertson as well and

4:53

to Brian for for getting her into this position.

4:55

She's been sort of in the in the under squads

4:57

for years now. But to

4:59

see her make that jump, I think comes

5:02

down to the the the games that she's played

5:04

and how she's played to Evan. So,

5:06

yeah, it's it's just great all around to see

5:08

to see her do that and, yeah,

5:10

delighted and made

5:11

up for her and can't wait to see

5:12

when she gets back and and give her all and say,

5:14

you know, Well, it gives her.

5:16

And that's it. It's unfortunate she

5:18

can't play this weekend, obviously, because we've got we've got

5:20

Manchester City at the weekend, which is her her

5:22

parents' club. But, I mean, like you

5:24

said, the impact that Jess has made on our side,

5:27

for such a young player as well, the confidence

5:29

that she plays with, you can just you can just

5:32

see she uses class and quality,

5:34

doesn't she no no

5:36

more so than than an Anne Field when which

5:38

we'll we always love talking about field

5:40

game, don't we, Sarah? Let's be honest, any excuse

5:42

to bring it up? No excuse.

5:44

Any excuse. I mean, she absolutely terrorized

5:46

on that day didn't she Okay. And and

5:48

scored an absolutely fantastic goal, really

5:50

composed finish as well. And and that's it. When

5:52

you when you see a young player who

5:54

who is who was able to to to to

5:56

play on the biggest stage, you know, as

5:59

a safer to go to Amfield and perform the

6:01

way she did in front of a huge crowd.

6:03

And it's no surprise for me that she's she's

6:05

able to step up into the line as is set

6:07

up and and and produce a a goal

6:09

within seconds of of coming on.

6:12

It's I say it's just a shame, isn't it that

6:14

she can't sort of capitalize on

6:16

that on that extra little boost you would have had this

6:18

weekend. It's just a shame that you can't play for

6:20

it, isn't it? Got

6:21

it. You know, I think she's

6:23

such a such a talented player

6:26

and

6:27

she you always feel like something's

6:28

gonna happen in a in a

6:30

attacking sense when Jeff is

6:32

on the pitch. So we will miss that.

6:34

But I think on the flip side is an

6:36

opportunity now for other players

6:38

to to, you know, make their mark on the

6:40

game. We're being live on

6:42

Sky as well, being at home on a Saturday.

6:45

We've as I said, we've sold out again.

6:47

So I think, you know, it's just an opportunity

6:50

for whoever's coming in, whoever's playing

6:52

that day to to, you know, try and

6:54

impact the game in a positive way. And

6:57

we have been, like, in a little bit in terms of

6:58

scoring goals recently. So hopefully,

7:01

we'll

7:01

see that change on Saturday. And,

7:03

yeah, we'll

7:04

we'll miss her playing, but yeah.

7:06

Well, I'm sure she'll be she'll be back in the in the

7:08

coming games as well. So -- Yeah. -- yeah.

7:10

Fungs will be able to to to see Jess

7:12

Park back in the blue suit. Yeah,

7:14

absolutely. And one of the one of the players as

7:16

well who will be looking to take care chances

7:18

she's given one of the weekend will be Adi Biva

7:20

Jones. who who came

7:22

on as a as a late swap against

7:24

Italy for the England number twenty ones. She

7:26

managed to actually slot their penalty expertly

7:29

into the bottom corner. before

7:31

Emily Ramsay pulled off some some

7:33

apps that you, you know, know what the way for it,

7:35

heroics, single, fleeing on one of the twenty

7:37

ones to save two penalties. We're going back to

7:39

Agi Biva Jones. Again,

7:41

another player on loan. She's in loan from

7:43

Chelsea, someone who who

7:46

in the same sense as Jess Parks, she's a young English

7:48

player looking for minutes. She's performed

7:50

exceptionally well. Isn't she? She just again

7:53

a player with so much energy, so much quality

7:55

on the ball. Another

7:57

player, GEO as well. GEO will

7:59

be looking to take a chance potentially of

8:01

maybe getting the start at the weekend. Isn't

8:03

it just nice to see that we do have so

8:05

many options in those positions now,

8:07

Sarah, especially when you consider the last

8:09

season? struggled maybe to to

8:11

even sometimes to fill up our our our

8:13

next day squads.

8:15

Yeah. Absolutely. You know, if you

8:17

say to be missing someone like Jess Park, then

8:19

be able come back with all these options and exciting

8:22

options as well of players that we've

8:24

got at our disposal this season, as you say,

8:27

albeit on loan, the likes of Jeff as

8:29

well. Do aggy,

8:31

but certainly really exciting young

8:33

players.

8:34

We've seen what Gio can do as well.

8:36

Obviously, most notably in the derby

8:38

again. Sorry to bring that up again, you

8:40

know, when we battered them. But,

8:43

you know, a a fight

8:45

into in the

8:46

ball for that third goal and, you

8:48

know, that

8:48

that's just the kind of

8:49

thing. She's so fast. She's rapid,

8:51

high energy. Looking forward to

8:53

seeing more of GEO, to be honest, as the season

8:55

progresses. And, Adi, as

8:57

you said, you know, on on to score a

9:00

penalty the other day, she looks

9:02

sharp. She always looks sharp in training.

9:05

And she she should be looking to

9:07

to try and get a goal for the toffees.

9:09

So,

9:09

yeah, really, really looking forward

9:12

to to see in potentially those

9:14

two on

9:14

Saturday as well.

9:16

Yes, absolutely. And one of the

9:19

other – another position that we've

9:21

that we've kind of got a lot

9:23

of competition for at the moment as well

9:25

is the goalkeeper, the goalkeeper

9:27

position. as I sort of

9:29

touched on then that Emily Ramsey, another player

9:31

who's actually on loan. She's on loan from Manchester

9:33

United another young English player.

9:36

She was absolutely superb against and valor in the

9:38

concourse course, and she she she saved

9:40

saved two penalties for us.

9:42

The fans didn't stop singing a name

9:44

throughout the game. She was absolutely incredible. And

9:46

I'm a and then obviously, you've got

9:48

quarterly Bronson as well who's

9:50

who's who's been who's been great for us this

9:52

season. She managed to get a six

9:54

clean in a row for the

9:56

Republic of Ireland as well this week,

9:58

which, again, it's an incredible incredible

10:00

start that, isn't it? So

10:02

in pure court, he will will be looking

10:05

to to sort of, you

10:07

know, should be should be I think should be happy with

10:09

the competition. because I think all keep us sort of thrive

10:11

off the competition. You know,

10:13

it's it's certainly a a position where,

10:15

you know, it's good to

10:17

have to be looking over your shoulder sometimes and

10:19

to keep it on your toes. But talking

10:21

about Emily Ramsey, as

10:24

you say, Ramsey managed to score to save

10:26

two penalties against Italy under twenty

10:28

one's other day for England. She

10:31

seems to have everything that you need in a goalkeeper,

10:33

doesn't she? Yeah.

10:34

Absolutely. I think, you

10:37

know, firstly, great

10:38

stuff that's for Courtney. She's

10:41

doing incredibly well and, you know, it's

10:43

great to she had doing so well for her for

10:45

her country

10:46

as well. Love to see that I don't see, you

10:48

know, helping them to

10:49

to qualify for World Cup, which is absolutely

10:51

massive. But in

10:53

terms of everything now, as you say, you know,

10:55

it's a position where fans

10:57

will probably be left wandering. We

10:59

you know, who who is gonna go who

11:02

who Brian will choose between the sticks because

11:04

they're both very, very high

11:06

level bowl keepers. So

11:08

they've probably got slightly different qualities

11:11

the competition's great to

11:13

see and, you know, it has to be said as well

11:15

just how supportive the goalkeepers

11:18

are are of each other as well and

11:20

training.

11:20

I just don't like that. You can always hear

11:22

them celebrating in

11:23

each other when they make a good save or

11:25

do something well. which

11:27

he just love to see. There's a really

11:29

great team spirit. But,

11:30

yeah, I think Emily Ramsay, she's

11:33

just for for a young player

11:35

as well. She just has an aura

11:37

about her for me. She's quite

11:39

commanding.

11:39

She's powerful.

11:41

You know, when she she saved two

11:43

penalties against Us and Villa in a county cop,

11:45

and then she saved two penalties against

11:47

in Italy during the twenty threes

11:49

the other day. And, you know, you you

11:51

just kind of know in those positions

11:53

that you know, if does come to

11:55

a penalty shootout or whatever, that

11:57

Rambo's got a save in it, yeah,

11:59

courtly the

11:59

same as well. By the way, obviously, say penalties

12:02

as well for a country. But I

12:05

think, yeah,

12:05

it is great. It's great to have

12:07

that competition. It's great to have two

12:10

goalkeepers that you'd be happy to see either one

12:12

of them start, you know. And

12:14

again, shows that kind of strength and depth that we've

12:16

got this season, maybe more so than we

12:18

have in the past. Yeah.

12:19

Absolutely. And one of the things that that's always

12:22

really impressed me with Courtney as well even last

12:24

season when she was probably, you know,

12:26

number two behind Stanley Mckeever before she

12:28

she left in Manchester City. Courtney

12:30

was has always been so

12:32

it's so enthusiastic and she's always

12:35

back that he made so well. She's she's almost like one of the

12:37

supporters on the when she was on the bench, she was like

12:39

having one of the supporters on the

12:41

bench. She is so vocal and she's you

12:43

know, she she she shows so much

12:45

passion for the club. So

12:48

again, it is great to see. And I think that's a

12:50

sort of a good reflection of

12:52

of the squad in general, to be honest with you, there seems to

12:54

be such a great a great team spirit.

12:56

You know, every player seems to be

12:58

fighting fighting for everyone else and

13:00

and the player seems to be loving playing for

13:02

the club. And again, that's got to

13:04

be something we've got to give Brian Soren. So a lot of credit

13:06

for it as well, certainly after last season, it was

13:08

a difficult season in the last season. and for

13:11

a number of reasons. And I

13:13

think it was probably going to

13:15

be quite a difficult job for us to come in

13:17

and to unify everyone.

13:19

And I think he's done that fantastically

13:21

well. And I think we're seeing the results

13:23

from that in terms of the performances and

13:25

certainly some of the results from this season.

13:28

So, again, it's it's it's now it's about sort of

13:30

taking it to the next level and sort of going towards

13:32

it. So with some of the you know, with with

13:34

all due respect to some of the teams we've played, but with

13:36

the with some of the bigger sides, And I

13:38

feel like it's only a matter of time. Now before

13:40

we do, just stay on that corner and just click.

13:42

As I say, it's still only early days, isn't

13:44

it? And look at the progress we're making.

13:47

And talking of one of the big sites,

13:49

we've we've got Manchester City

13:51

coming up this weekend at Walton Hall Park,

13:53

a a sold out, Walton Hall Park.

13:56

standard. Now, Pete. Standard.

13:58

Standard. Yes. Standard. Alright.

14:00

Sound good? I mean, when when you

14:02

think about after even a couple of seasons

14:04

ago, you know, we've

14:06

we've been trying, you know, certain yourself, you

14:08

know, you've you've been a massive sort of advocate

14:10

for for the for the women's game and

14:12

and for for our women's team. You've you've

14:14

you've been trying to really push it

14:16

and trying to really push the supporters to

14:18

come. We obviously had the pandemic, which

14:20

which kind of got in the way of it once we

14:22

move to Walt North Park. I think we only had one game at

14:24

Walt North Park. we before the pandemic

14:26

hit? We did. So we did. Yeah.

14:28

Yeah. And that that again, that was the

14:30

Manchester ice game, which was a that was a huge

14:32

crowd. That one I remember. It was it was it was a

14:34

massive crowd. And obviously, the pandemic hit. And

14:36

it kind of I felt like it kind of sort of

14:38

set us back a little bit in

14:40

terms of, you know, we we'd seen

14:42

sort of started to get a bit of bit

14:44

of momentum with with encouraging supporters

14:46

to come down than the pandemic hit, and it

14:48

took a little while. And certainly as, you know,

14:50

sort of touched on last season probably wasn't the the

14:52

best season in terms of results

14:54

and performances. So

14:57

again, it was almost about rebuilding that.

14:59

And I feel like we've got a really good

15:01

momentum with it now, haven't we?

15:02

yeah, massive, you know. I

15:05

think, as you said, the the pandemic

15:07

kind of stopped any

15:09

momentum building with that first

15:11

crowd that we had to be night game.

15:13

And I

15:13

also think the impact that

15:15

that COVID had on

15:18

people and people, I

15:19

still to this day feel different

15:22

and and can sometimes get a little bit anxious, you

15:24

know, going out

15:25

and being in crowds and being around

15:27

large groups

15:27

of people and stuff. And I feel like maybe

15:30

took a little bit of a while for that to kind of

15:32

throw out and beat for people to find

15:34

being in football stadiums again.

15:36

Yeah. Kind of normal whether that be

15:38

a good person park, Walnut Park, you know,

15:40

wherever wherever it is there going.

15:42

But

15:42

now it's the social side

15:44

of things for me as well that you see,

15:46

And

15:46

I know I know so many

15:49

people that, you know, stop me

15:51

and say, you know, I really

15:53

love this. I've been, you know, coming now with

15:55

with my mom or bad or,

15:57

you know, my friends and my neighbors.

15:59

It's some

15:59

real social thing that

16:02

people look forward to doing, go into Walton

16:04

Park, see in the mate.

16:05

getting together, cheering on the

16:07

girls, you know.

16:08

And and I just love that. And I think

16:11

as you see that, bro, and you see these relationships

16:13

growth purely through going and watching having

16:15

women. It's just great. There's like a

16:17

whole community of of fans and

16:19

that that go and and,

16:20

yeah, I think that contributes massively

16:23

to

16:24

the togetherness that we feel,

16:26

you know, like you said, Brian,

16:29

you know, has to be praised

16:31

for, I think,

16:32

the the incredible work he's done in unifying

16:34

everybody, making everybody feel

16:36

a real sense of togetherness

16:38

and pride in this team. And it

16:40

it's just it

16:42

it

16:42

it goes, doesn't it from the fans to

16:44

the team? And and and the whole all around the

16:47

place, I feel like it all contributes

16:49

to this feel good factor. that

16:51

is kind of here. And yes, you

16:52

know, that doesn't mean to say that

16:54

we're gonna win every single game and we've seen that,

16:57

you know, Chelsea. We gave them a

16:59

really good game, but ultimately they still came

17:01

out on top. It's a little a little bit

17:03

disappointing and against Manchester United, but

17:05

I think we need to remember like

17:07

we're building something. Yeah. We've seen

17:09

some great performances and

17:11

we've seen some ones that haven't been quite as

17:13

good as what what we've seen in other games,

17:15

but this togetherness and these

17:17

these bigger crowds, these better

17:19

performances, this togetherness, it all feeds

17:21

into each other. And I think

17:23

that that's that's

17:23

the thing that is most exciting for

17:26

me about about

17:27

everyone in the season is is seeing

17:29

how far that can take us. And, yeah,

17:31

I just can't wait even Saturday. It'll be

17:33

a tough game. We know that's Manchester City, but

17:35

you just pause get into the place. I

17:37

I pause knowing I'm going to work and there's gonna

17:39

be, you know,

17:40

all those fans

17:41

there making all that noise. And it

17:43

set it fills me with a sense of pride as well Pete because as

17:45

you know, for years now -- Yeah. -- we've

17:48

been working and and trying to

17:50

help encouraging people to come to the

17:52

games and because we see how great it is, and

17:54

we love it. And it's it's just growing now, but it

17:56

makes me proud getting used to

17:58

seeing everyone women who sold out

17:59

again. He's just like, yes.

18:02

we'd get

18:02

in there, you know. There's a long way to go. But

18:05

yeah. It's

18:07

it's just it's just I've gone on a rant, and

18:09

I bought it. It's just basically great.

18:11

It's great to see. You you run away,

18:13

mate. It's it's okay. It's amazing.

18:16

Absolutely. Well well, that's it. Yeah. I

18:18

mean, I

18:20

would never, ever, ever caught you short from Iran's era.

18:23

That's the worst thing, and anyone could ever

18:25

do. When I say

18:27

that, like, literally, it's because I'm

18:29

terrified of doing it, but, you know, that was

18:32

a that was

18:33

a happy rant as well. It was a happy

18:35

rant. Yeah. It was great. Yeah.

18:37

I'm gonna see me sometimes. It's

18:40

only they knew what I am.

18:42

That's for the time isn't it. That's for

18:44

the time. It's all smoke. It's all

18:46

smoke on mirrors. But

18:48

again, I mean, it's all it's all

18:50

the the supporters as well.

18:53

you know, that the players have commented so many times as well. I don't

18:55

even know how much of an impact the supporters can have

18:57

on them and and it and it is such a

19:00

a great thing to see that that interaction with the players

19:02

and the supporters, whether it be, you

19:04

know, at the games, social media,

19:07

see through the interviews. Obviously, you you're down in Finch Farm

19:09

doing these these fantastic interviews, make sure

19:11

everyone checks out the official channels,

19:14

the Sarah's fantastic array of

19:16

interviews. Just a little plug there.

19:18

And then yeah. But, you know,

19:20

it's it's great

19:22

to say the, you know, the the

19:24

the reaction from the players as well.

19:26

And and certainly, I mean, even

19:28

even when things haven't necessarily gone our

19:30

way and things, you know, we've we've been down,

19:32

I feel like the crowd have still responded and still

19:35

stuck with the players and and I really hope

19:37

that continues. Certainly, we've got a

19:39

as you as you as you know, we've

19:41

got our own singing section now at Walton Hall Park.

19:43

And I think that, you know, there's been

19:45

a lot of way to go into that to make sure that

19:47

we that we have sort of, you know,

19:50

a basis for our for our

19:52

for our atmosphere so that we've got a

19:54

group of support as you will carry on. But

19:56

obviously, I mean, we'd wanna encourage as many

19:59

people as possible to to get involved with that. I

20:01

mean, we can we can see

20:03

you on the far end from where we are,

20:05

where where we understand we can see you go and

20:07

not behind the goal, and it

20:09

happens. So it's great. You've got

20:11

that area boxed off. that

20:14

sorted down there behind the goal. I'm sure. Yeah.

20:16

I'm sure that our players are delighted with the support,

20:18

and I'm sure the opposition are terrified of

20:21

you, which is Oh, I always feel bad

20:22

to, like, to the opposition's

20:24

goalkeeper for, like, you know what I mean? Yeah. And I've

20:26

even had a little bit of ban to him in there. Like,

20:28

I remember Hannah Hanson when she

20:30

was playing for Birmingham. because I was

20:32

just, like, oh, I haven't turned into

20:34

these rooms

20:34

screaming. And she was having a gig with me.

20:37

She turned around to, like, any chance,

20:39

like, Sorry, love. You're not up

20:41

here now. So

20:45

low.

20:45

It's it's great, but

20:47

think our supporters, you know. I

20:50

just

20:50

I just love seeing it, and I

20:53

think

20:53

you need massive credit, you know, likes

20:56

of Fiona and Meg who's

20:58

part of the official sports club,

21:00

and they've done the song book

21:02

publish

21:03

the song book. They've got these

21:05

little, like,

21:08

specially

21:08

designed, BMM at

21:10

things with unique ones for all the different

21:12

players and there's more in the pipeline as well and

21:14

stuff, I believe. And it's just it's just really

21:16

nice. Like,

21:17

when you see people go into the games and they're

21:19

wanting to collect these merchandise and

21:22

get signed by the

21:22

players. They can see the words for the

21:25

songs, and it all helps in

21:27

generating a better atmosphere,

21:30

which ultimately helps

21:32

us be better on the pitch. So

21:34

I just think, you know, the

21:36

chances of massive

21:37

credit, we're always crying out about

21:39

people coming down and actually, like,

21:41

back in it

21:42

because you see people going, oh, yeah.

21:44

The girls are doing well. Oh, yeah. Yeah. You know, I'm

21:46

gonna go and I'm like, well, come and then have you been? Oh,

21:48

no. I'm gonna come put,

21:49

you know,

21:50

get get there and con

21:52

contribute and actually, you

21:55

know, those people that I've started coming

21:57

are like, I love it now, and imagine not coming.

21:59

So that's what we'd love to see.

22:01

Hopefully, we'll see another

22:02

sun flying up sooner rather than later

22:05

as well. get even more

22:07

than Well, that's it, especially when the

22:09

winter hits and the rain. Yeah.

22:11

That's that's why we're kinda we're kinda happy that

22:13

we've baggedied the bucket stamp. I

22:15

was, you know, looking at

22:17

some of the weather. That's about the that's

22:19

cut that's coming coming soon.

22:21

It's gonna be Well, I have it

22:22

for you and I. It didn't I. I was there.

22:24

and the goal of getting film and bits and bobs.

22:27

And I thought, you know, I was

22:29

ready

22:29

for that art time. We're still to blow some

22:31

eyes. If you ever need an excuse to get under

22:33

the covers, I'll just say that you to film the

22:35

support. It's cool. It's like it's cool content, isn't

22:37

it? Where you're actually supposed to get out to the rain?

22:39

There you go. That's okay. Great content.

22:42

Box.

22:42

Don't I'll

22:43

join the singing section then as well. Oh, main

22:45

town. Yeah. We double we double the air.

22:47

The atmosphere. We'd have to two help and

22:49

seven the singing section because you're at Amy's

22:51

there as well. and

22:52

-- Oh, yeah. -- like oh,

22:54

yeah. But the general me on things Ben,

22:57

I

22:57

think so I'm, like, passionate in that. I

22:59

need to meet my sister, Amy, because Oh,

23:01

yeah. She's maybe even she's maybe even,

23:03

like, more louder than I am. So if you

23:05

can even just comprehend that for a second,

23:08

So yeah. Normally seen

23:10

with two flags, making a lot of noise,

23:12

you could you you'll you'll see Amy. See

23:14

Amy wander around Bolton the whole park support

23:16

in our gales. every family play.

23:20

Absolutely. Absolutely. Ever launches, mate.

23:22

Ever launches. We'll

23:24

talk just to sort of

23:26

you know, talk about the weekend before before we

23:28

finish. Obviously, you said you had a bit

23:31

of a difficult start to the season. They they

23:33

were knocked out to the Champions League. They

23:35

they lost you know, a couple of you know,

23:37

really important players as well in the

23:39

summer. They they lost their

23:41

opening games to Aston Villa four three.

23:43

They lost to Chelsea. But

23:45

then these kind of gone on a bit of a a bit of a

23:47

a non beaten and and very good run. They they

23:49

beat less the phone, they'll beat spares, three

23:51

in another way. beat

23:52

Liverpool two one. Everyone seems

23:55

to beat Redden

23:58

beat Redden three nil, and I think the one in the

23:59

country called six nil against against black

24:02

bands. So Obviously, that I mean, we

24:04

all know that Citi are always gonna be a

24:06

dangerous side with with plenty of quality.

24:08

But how do you how do you feel that we

24:10

can we can we can match them this

24:12

weekend? Just think we're we can go

24:14

into this game full of confidence ourselves.

24:16

Yeah. Absolutely. I mean, I

24:19

think it's

24:19

always a game where

24:21

Manchester City are are gonna be considered

24:24

in

24:24

that little click that are above where

24:26

we're at right now. Of course, people talk

24:28

about obviously Chelsea. arsenal,

24:30

city, and so on Manchester United as

24:32

well. Yeah. So it's not a game

24:34

that I think we'll be looking at maybe

24:37

like last season when we, you know, we

24:39

spent all this morning and we bought in all these players and we

24:41

were looking at Manchester City at

24:43

home as a one where, yeah, let's get a result

24:45

here and ultimately, it really didn't go

24:47

that way in. It was sort of the start

24:49

of a bit of a a bit of a tricky

24:51

season, also. So I think

24:53

this time around, we're

24:55

trying to keep expectations lower.

24:58

And we saw that again

25:00

Chelsea, we really gave them a good game

25:02

and that's the best team in the league. Manchester United.

25:04

I think it's safe to say, the players will say, the

25:06

managers will say, we just weren't we just

25:08

we were just a bit off the pace against Manchester

25:10

United. It wasn't our day.

25:12

But

25:12

this is another opportunity

25:15

now against the really, really good

25:17

side, one of the elite sides in the league for

25:19

us to kind of, you know, impose our

25:21

game on them. We're at home. We'll have the

25:23

funds with us.

25:23

It's a it's a really importantly

25:26

game as well. If we I think if we if we

25:27

win this game with go level on points from

25:30

Manchester City as well at a good

25:32

time. So with

25:33

some tricky games as well following, you know, we've

25:35

got we've got

25:35

awesome way. We've got brightening away. So

25:39

it'll be a game that we're we're definitely

25:41

confident of getting something from. I think, you

25:43

know, we we shouldn't be going into any

25:45

game feeling

25:47

anything

25:47

but confident. And I feel

25:49

that we we can get a result. At the

25:51

same time, very very respectful

25:53

of the fact that Manchester City

25:56

are are an exceptionally good side, and they just have

25:58

seen to have found that form

25:59

recently. Obviously, Bonnie

26:02

is absolutely on file as well and and

26:04

has scored a few against them. the past. So

26:06

we definitely need to be wary. We're

26:08

playing a very good side, but at the same

26:10

time, yeah, I'm confident that the girls can

26:12

absolutely get results again against

26:14

Citi. you know, again,

26:16

we'll just encourage that the the list the listeners and

26:18

the funds that are going as always as

26:20

is always from the first minute the ninetieth. Get

26:22

right behind the girls because I think that's,

26:24

you know, with a with a good atmosphere.

26:27

I think that'll just encourage the girls

26:29

to to have a go and they're hopefully,

26:31

we can come out with the with smiles on our faces

26:33

on Saturday night.

26:34

Let's hope. So let's hope. And again,

26:36

you know, to the supporters, it's it's

26:38

there's only one more chance after this weekend to get down to Walton

26:40

Hall Park before the end of the year. We're playing

26:43

Durham in the concierge cup on the seventeenth of

26:45

December, twelve thirty kick off.

26:48

again, we'd we'd love to see that that sold out as well so

26:50

that we can we can bring that atmosphere. And hopefully,

26:52

by that point, we might we'll we'll

26:55

have an idea of where we could end up

26:57

finishing in the - in that group as well.

26:59

The - that came against Stone could

27:01

be vital we're gonna go through the group and and

27:03

get into the knockout stages of the concorde cup.

27:05

So, yeah, it it it'd be great to

27:07

see to see that game sold out as well. Wouldn't it

27:09

say? Do you know

27:10

what, Pete? know our

27:12

fans already. I already know we're gonna sell out.

27:14

And now as we as people are listening

27:16

to this, they are gonna be getting their tickets

27:19

because

27:19

listen, why wouldn't you wanna be a part of it?

27:21

This is the thing. I enjoy so much and

27:23

even obviously I'm working. I enjoy so much

27:25

going to walk and walk and walk,

27:28

seeing everyone absorbing that

27:30

atmosphere. It's just brilliant. And as you

27:32

said, you know, it would be the last time this

27:34

year for our funds to to go

27:36

and see our girls ahead of

27:38

the new year. So,

27:40

yeah, it'll be sold out. I'm sure of that.

27:42

It'll be it'll be

27:44

a good atmosphere. And, you know,

27:46

Durham Durham are a good side, obviously,

27:48

division below, but they always give us a

27:50

tough game. That's tough northern girls, and

27:53

they always a tough game. So it should be

27:54

a belter. And, yeah, we wanna see you all

27:56

there. We wanna hear you all there.

27:58

And,

27:58

yeah, a lot of

27:59

sell fell out

28:00

out, please. is right. It's

28:03

right. And the other thing is, well, to bear in mind, any

28:05

Christian presence that need to get signs, get them

28:07

down, you know, and get them get

28:09

them down to old old park, no the little no the

28:11

little things throw in there. Absolutely.

28:13

Get yourselves

28:14

all year, you know. You kinda bounce and

28:16

shit, get them all signed.

28:18

what we

28:18

wanna say. Get down the club shop, get the get the names and numbers on

28:20

the back, and then get them that get out to, well,

28:22

no park, to get them signed. They'll

28:26

be they'll be screwing at us now. We'll go.

28:29

Right right then

28:32

said, I think I think that's that's all for today.

28:35

We've got a a very

28:37

exciting couple of guests coming

28:39

on tomorrow who will be announced

28:42

over over the next sort of twenty

28:44

four hours thankfully. Joe from Evans has been

28:46

kind enough to arrange

28:48

a couple of special guest for us. So if everyone wants

28:50

to keep an eye out for those, keep an eye out for

28:52

those on our social media. But

28:54

for now, that's us with the Bluemiew

28:57

EWC podcast. Looking forward to

28:59

our game at Wildhore Park against

29:01

Manchester City on Saturday. Come on

29:03

You Blues. Sports

29:05
