This week on The Boys in the Band Podcast we chat to Chris Cester from Jet.
He tells us about the Australian music scene - or lack of it - when they were forming in the early 2000s and how The Vines drew the music industry's attention Down Under, allowing Jet to capitalise with their brilliant collection of throw-back rock 'n' roll.
It could have been very different if it wasn't for a lyric change on 'Are You Gonna Be My Girl', while Chris reflects on how that song and their debut album Get Born launched the band to global success and into a wild, excessive world.
From an all-expenses paid month of extreme luxury in Barbados to touring with legendary bands such as Oasis and The Rolling Stones, Chris has some brilliant stories to share.
He also discusses the band's follow-up two albums and the bumpy ride they went on through those records, and his new project, The Mystic Knights of Amnesia - named by Noel Gallagher - and their album which is set to launch in 2022.
