“The riches are in the niches.” This is common wisdom told to many aspiring podcasters...It’s also the most damaging professional advice I’ve ever received. Why is it so troublesome, and what key piece of information is this advice missing? I’ll explain.   In this episode:   - Battlestar Galactica was one of the best shows ever, but did the nerdy title hamper its success?   - What BSG can teach us about focusing on the right audience   - What if you’re passionate about multiple things? How to have a successful show if you don’t want to limit yourself to one topic.   - Don’t find a niche, find a cohesive worldview instead.   - Seth Godin and the minimum viable audience (MVA). Get big by starting small.   - Example of shows that started “niche” and became massive successes (Seth Godin, Clay Travis, Joe Rogan, etc)   Into the Spotlight (“ITS”) is a podcast for the aspiring showmakers—those who want to create online shows, build an audience, and make a great living by producing awesome content. It’s a show for the up-and-coming media moguls of the world.   If you’re ready to launch your media empire, connect with me at BrandonBeeyard.com
