On this Summer Friday, we've put together some of our favorite recent interviews, including:

  • The Washington Post's White House senior Washington correspondent Philip Rucker and national investigative reporter Carol Leonnig, authors of I Alone Can Fix It: Donald J. Trump's Catastrophic Final Year (Penguin Press, 2021), tell the untold story of 2020 and the Trump White House and how last year's events reverberate today.
  • Olivia Carville, Bloomberg Business reporter, reports on what happens when things go really wrong at Airbnb rentals, why we don't often hear about it, and what vacationers and those renting out their homes should know.
  • Carol Anderson, professor of African American Studies at Emory University and the author of White Rage and The Second: Race and Guns in a Fatally Unequal America (Bloomsbury Publishing, 2021), talks about her new book that traces the white supremacist history of the Second Amendment and how gun rights in the U.S. continue to discriminate against Black Americans.
  • Emily Lordi, associate professor of English at Vanderbilt University and author of several books, most recently, The Meaning of Soul: Black Music and Resilience since the 1960s (Duke University Press Books, 2020), discusses how Marvin Gaye's 1971 album "What's Going On" was shaped by its time and has influenced music for generations to come.
