It’s easy to fall into a rhythm of prayer and to just “go through the motions,” but because we never mature past the need for God, we need to get out of the habits we form and dive into what it means to simply be with God in prayer.

To be with God, we need to learn how to reorient ourselves, relinquish control, rest, and then respond to Him. This will allow us to enter into a dimension of prayer that goes beyond words, listening, or speaking.

If we want to live transformed lives, lives of mission, purpose, and calling — lives of bringing light to dark places, sharing the good news of the Gospel — that’s going to take a lifetime of prayer, of being with God day-in and day-out.
