Welcome to today’s episode of The Call Room. Today on the podcast, we have with us Dr. Saba Rizvi, MD, an emergency medicine physician. Dr. Rizvi is also currently studying to earn her law degree at Baylor University.

Dr. Rizvi recently published an article in Emergency Medicine News about private equity contract management groups, and we thought it would be great to hear more from her about the role they are playing in healthcare and the cost of patient care. We will learn about the current state of healthcare in relation to private equity groups, the problems they’ve created and discuss steps that can be taken by physicians to get medicine away from them.

Listen in to today’s episode to learn about Private equity, how it affects physicians, their patients, and healthcare in nearly every aspect. I hope you enjoy my conversation with Dr. Rizvi as much as I did!

“We really need to go back to getting out of the employment model in hospitals and going back to just running our own practices and running our own businesses. That’s what’s going to give us back that power.” — Dr. Saba Rizvi, MD
